i recently used up 4 x QC passes i received from ANZ and Westpac to my trip to HKG and received mix feedback regard child entry policy . I original thought i can use 2 pass for partner and i and the kids get in for free as long as they under 17

At SYD Internation J lounge lady asked how old is my kids answered 3 and 1 she said it ok as long as the kids is under 3 .

At HKG Qantas J lounge they refused our entry saying that my 3 years old need another pass to enter while the infant can get in for free ( Qantas rules ) .

Can someone points me to the right rules for QC passes for reference next time we can use it ?

Access policy on this page. Clearly says upto 3 is not counted as a guest. 2 from 4 to 17 not counted either

the problem is that some people get confused with the pass because they don't allow guests at all, and they somehow thing of the child being a guest. Except policy clearly says they are not guests.

Whilst in theory the former QF Rep on here stated that Children were admitted as per the overall QF Lounge Access policy, in reality the Lounge staff interpret access based on the wording on the back of the pass (i.e This pass is for one person only).

Perhaps it is time for QF to state it explicitly on their website how these passes fit in relation to the admission of children. Would save a lot of heartache in the long run.

Agree, and it's pretty miserable not to allow a 3yo.

Wake up QF.

Matt
PS would have loved to been entering at the same time as the OP and say the 3yo was my guest.

Thanks for the link , so that mean i am right to think that 2 x QC Passes will allow 2 adults and 2 kids under the age of 17 if i take the matter further if someone refused entries . Qantas J Lounge Staff at HKG eventually allowed us in but saying this is an exception and i should bring 3 passes next time , my partner having a bad exp especially her first time at QF HKG J Lounge .

I think that's correct. Qantas policy says that the children are allowed to enter, without restriction, with someone entitled to enter the lounge. In saying that there is the condition on the pass about it being for 1 person only, but that one person is the adult. the children are then allowed in without restriction - they do not count as guests. But then I'm just a faceless internet thing - if you quote me Qantas will probably lol.

Agreed that Qantas could fix this with more info.

I have this worry every time I use my passes with my partner. I haven't had a problem having the kids let in any time in the end, but it always feels like an unnecessary stress.
