Qatar lounge in Singapore T1 (Opened Jan. 2020)

I was in the QR LHR T4 lounge last Nov. Felt more like an AA F lounge.

That's interesting. I take AA F to be pretty average, whereas I thought the QR LHR lounge was amazing. It sounds quite similar to the SIN lounge from the above descriptions.

The service is amazing and they keep checking on our drinks.

Im on a QF flight and checking in I was treated just like any other passengers. As I’m a Qantas Bronze this is the best option for me.
They asked if there’s anything they could improve on and I gave them a feedback about being a little more proactive with the drinks during dining and great to see that they took it on board. They were really fast in taking orders, delivering food and clearing the plates but didn’t check if the glasses were empty/low at the same time.

So glad to find that other AFFers thought the same about the lounge as me (proven it’s not the alcohol or jetlag talking :p)

Wife & I checked out the Qantas business lounge after to use the bathroom. After the Qatar lounge it felt like walking into Sizzler. However it’s a different offering for more passengers so it’s fit for purpose and volume.

Contrary to what some of the bloggers may have us believe, the lounge is not open continuously in the evening, from QR947 at 8.25pm to QR945 at 2am. The lounge is closed between 8pm and 10.30pm.

That is interesting as I was there during that time in early Feb. This must be a new change.

The new hours is giving the Qantas Sizzler bar back some glory.
When I was there, their own 2am pax started arriving after 9pm, bet they won’t be too happy with the changes either! QR probably did that to avoid the swamp of QF biz pax. Back to the Sizzler we go.

I guess the early QR PAX can take the short walk to the QF/BA business facilities or the longer walk to the QF first facility.

Given the amount of feasting to be had at QR and QF F lounges, I personally think the walk between the lounges should be even further. :p This will be tested in June’s lounge run which would now have to start with QR with its revised hours.

I'll add my vote to this lounge being the superior option for those eligible. Only 4 pax at opening time in the evening (17:30). No more than about 20 by the time I left around 18:50 for QF36.
Lots of staff. Enthusiastic, proud and helpful. But inexperienced and lacking some polish and knowledge of their product. Even those staff members who were clearly showing newbies around. But attitude very positive.
Quiet, different zones to sit in, not solely focused on dining. Some natural light (though no runway views).
A no-brainer if you are eligible to access. For reference I was flying QF F and was treated very well.

I am looking forward to trying out this lounge in August. We have about 6 hours between our QF and AY J flights.

What time is the AY flight?
I’ve seen mentioned back earlier in this thread that the lounge may be closed now between 2000-2230

Our AY flight departs at 23:25 and QF 71 gets in at 17:20 so we will have time for food and possibly a shower before the closure. I also think that the closure is around 2000 as someone on Flyertalk was booted out (politely asked to leave) at that time. We still will have options and in the last resort we can always use the DNATA lounge that is the "official" Finnair lounge.

With their usual on-ground efficiency, the QATAR website still shows their Singapore Lounge as being the SATS one.

A bit of lounge hopping never hurt anyone although personally with that length of time at that time of the day I’m heading into Chinatown for a feed. The QR lounge looks great so atleast you get some time in there

If I wanted authentic local food on a shortish stopover I would just go to one of the "Staff Canteens" in T1 or T2 or perhaps Changi Village. Anyway, we will be spending a couple of nights in Singapore on the way back from Germany.

We will have at least one and possibly two of my wife's cousins with us on this trip and they have never travelled in J before so the lounges will be a new experience for them.

On my way to Vietnam recently I did QF J/F, QR and PP. While the QR lounge is beautiful, the lockers a great idea for bags and the staff attentive, I actually thought the food options I had at QF F to be better tasting than QR.

Like all of us, I’m missing travel dearly so I thought I’d upload a picture I forgot to post from 11 March just before the lockdown.

What an amazing lounge, great service, such a contrast to the QF F Lounge which has significantly declined in service already.

Oh and also of note, during my stay the staff mentioned that two guests travelling Finnair late in the evening meant they were staying open through their usual close down between flights.
