Does Jetstar truly have an 'excellent safety record' as claimed?

If I recall, Mr Thomas also predicted one thing at least about one of the MH troubles that turned out to be extremely wide of the mark.

i don't believe he is as I see him regularly in the J lounge at SYD sitting alone.
