Qantas Wine latest offering

Simple, you just write the price down and you'll always find some sucker who thinks it must be really good, Marketing 101.

Anyone knows what is the realistic retail price of Seppeltsfield NV Paramount?
Can't find it being sold anywhere online.

I think the epiqure site says it was specially done for them, an "exclusive" item

I have no illusion about the Port being worth $300+ dollars but Penfolds do make some nice port.
I just looked at the offer of six bottles at twenty something each with free freight.

Hopefully Seppeltsfield do also....

Even if the port is worth half of what they're saying, you're paying for it and getting 5 free bottles of red.

It's amazing the justifications we are able to come up with. My father goes and gets McGuigans from DMs for $8/bottle and thinks I need my head read when I say how much I spend.

Think the "market value" for it is $240 plus commission. Found a spreadsheet by googling and that's the auction result from Langton's. So it's a sample size of 1...

Cellar tracker suggest this port be consumed 2013-2014

Doesn't sound right to me but I don't know so thought I would ask the brains trust

Any NV fortified isn't going to improve with age. Not likely to get much worse either though. Someone probably had the 2013 and put that in as a note for themselves. Ignore the drinking windows on NV wines on CT.

A reason why someone might do that. CT has the option to view your wines in a "ready to drink order" based on the drinking window and how many bottles of the wine you have. So putting in the dates like that could have been that person's way of seeing an accurate reflection in their ready to drink order.

Still passing on any Epiqure purchases at present...5K almost isn't enough

I've passed on this one too. The 7500 bonus point Mixed Winter Red Warmer dozen is still around. I tried the D'Arenburg Galvo Garage Cabinet Merlot Petit Verdot Cabinet Franc 2009 last weekend out of that dozen but didn't rate it - it tired me out just pronouncing it.

Okay, I weakened at this weeks' offer - seemed better value and I am going through the quaffing wines quickly at home
