Qantas Wine latest offering

I shall keep an eye on my points postings in the coming days/weeks. I recall seeing reference to the 4,000 points during the purchasing phase but there is no mention of it on the invoice, much like there was no reference to the 6 points per $ offer a few weeks back which posted to my account without a problem so we shall see. If they do not appear rest assured a call will be made!! :)

Pity there's a lot of chard in the mix, disobeys my ABC rule

Chardonnay is the most improved variety in Australia over the last 10 years.....at the top level it competes effortlessly with Grand Cru Burgundy..... probably a good time to give it another go I reckon

Interesting comment; I also was a little disappointed with the amount of Chardonnay in the mix as I have steered clear of it for years. Now I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised with the ones QF chose for me. Has certainly changed my thinking.

+1

After what seems an eternity downing NZ Sauv Blanc's - I've turned back to the chardonnay.....very impressed!

Had the pleasure of judging at this event (along with a bunch of other wine shows) this year James Halliday Chardonnay Challenge

450 wines entered.....tough job separating the top ten....all superb wines

At the top end, as mentioned the wines are world class (current favourite is the Oakridge 864 Funder & Diamond Drive Block) but also at lower price points there is some amazing stuff on offer..., Penfolds Thomas Hyland and Devils Lair Hidden Cave, etc

woo hoo, you're going to be good on here with all the wine/points offerings :) Might be a while before I can bring myself to try any Chardonnay though

I am fortunate that I work with someone who enjoys a good Chardonnay. We just split the occasional mixed white carton.

I bought this pack prior to Christmas as part of a previous offer. I liked the Flametree and Red Claw Pinot, very happy with both at the price. Not tried the GSM yet.

I like the GSM, but think I'm going to keep my money in my wallet this week at least...

I must admit I'm not a huge fan of that particular Chardonnay; always gets taken to the local Indian restaurant for a meal where the butter chicken is able to mask its strong oakiness. Given my cholesterol issues, I thought I better steer clear of this offer lest it induces too much ghee!

From the email I got today, the two cases I looked at were both cheaper than at Dan's, so they're still very tempting to me... but might wait a little longer for more bonus points to be offered. Certainly not at a shortage of wine right now, and more focused on what I like.

This one seems to be reduced still (as per the previous posts) and has 2500 bonus points, needs to be ordered by 1Am tomorrow though, and it has too much chardonnay for some!

well, given the 1m deadline you had better get onto the tasting process and publish the results here pretty quick-smart

bonus 2000 FF's if you buy 2 (6 bottle) cases
I have sampled the Wolf Blass 05 Black Label and can recommend it, however I am after some guidance on the Yering Shiraz/Voigner please?

Hi Boylero

After trying the Yering Shiraz Voigner for the first time at Xmas, I purchased more. It is outstanding, and even more so if aerated or decanted prior to drinking.

I agree, very much a favorite from the Festive Dozen if you exclude the free Xaviers!

The reds are fine, but yet to try the chardy. The wine cabinet is full and I'm thinking its time for a dinner party :D
