You may find the mods may merge this with your previous thread.

I assume - what's the chance of an upgrade.
At the moment looks ok, but always the chance of last minute bookings, or P1s and Plats ahead of youas
well as those in PE with upgrade requests

You can only wait for the SMS

Sorry yes, wandering re upgrade but also why seats look like 10 but sounds like at least 27??? Re EF seat plans plus their availability. We are all currently PE

You can't add 9+9+9.
9 is the max in each bucket, but if they sell a J bucket it will also subtract from the other categories.

J9 just means there are at least 9 business class tickets available. If it's a flight with F seats it could be at least 9 business/first seats. An airline may choose to overbook business (if they don't think they're going to be able to sell all the First seats) forcing them to do some upgrades to First (if everyone in Business shows up) on flights that have First.

The 9's are what they're willing to sell in one transaction (this doesn't always reflect true availability either given overbooking and the like, but that's a whole other minor detail). You also can't assume unallocated seats on an seat map give a real indication of what is sold or not. Some people never pre-allocate for example. It's a guide, but NEVER a given.

Thanks everyone for your info and comments. Getting a better understanding of how system works thanks to everyone's help.
