Qantas TravelPass discussion

The terms and conditions do state that the TravelPass can only be redeemed on qantas.com or through your local Qantas office.
I'd still be inclined to try it anyway. I wasn't aware of (and I can't find any reference to) any single-merchant locked offering from UATP, which is a payment network like Visa or Mastercard, but owned by airlines (including QF).

So I called Qantas for the second time, the consultant seemed a bit uncertain why I got a travelpass as she could see my cash refund request. She put me on hold a few times (45 min overall) and sorted it out. I got a confirmation email. She also spontaneously refunded the cc surcharge of the original booking.

Can we use multiple travelpass with different bonuses for a booking?

For example using a travelpass with DSC to activate the bonus on the booking and using another travelpass where we received extra credits

Hi All

I have 3 flights which were booked as DSC back in Feb for flights in May, June and July. All 3 have been cancelled by QF.
These have gone into a credit state with the DSC still assigned to them.
As far as I am aware I have not had any communications with them since, but as I will not be able to use them before the DSC time limit runs out in Feb 2021, I was thinking about getting a refund.
This travelPass keeping the DSC for any flights till Dec 2022 is what I would like to get in palce of the credits.

Any advice on how I convert them to a travelpass?
Do I call them and just ask to get them converted or do I need to jump through some specific hoops to get them to offer it to me.
TravelPass with DSC and 10% extra would be an added bonus, so has anyone actually got that.

On using the TravelPass.
I do have one flight credit which is quite expensive. So can I use that to pay for multiple flights and get DSC on any / all flights which were purchased using that travelpass?

Thanks

Just ring and tell them you have a booking that's eligible for a refund but would prefer a Travel Pass with DSC.

Good luck getting DSC and 10% extra. Despite claims by Executive Traveller, nobody has confirmed they've received both offers.

@xd9000 jut confirming that this worked for me.
I called this morning for another issue, the consultant had clearly lots of experience, I asked her about converting my DSC voucher expiring in Feb21 (to get the DSC) to a travelPass-DSC expiring end 2022, she was totally across it, converted it, I got the confirmation email a few minutes later.
I should precise, my voucher could have been converted to cash if I wanted. TravelPass seems to be still a new thing, the only thing I would add to @aus_flyer is to hang up and call again if the person you talk to is not across travel passes.

Really happy to have a DSC handy to use for my next membership or even the one after.

Getting confused with the TravelPass. Got a confirmation email and FB chat with DSC but the actual TravelPass has +10% in value. (I have checked to booking reference and original ticket price 3 times)
Guess I need to check with Qantas what is really attached, the DCS, +10%, or both.
I mean happy to take both :)

the DSC on travelpass doesn't count towards lifetime status. Just had the staff telling me this.

I doubt this. The only restriction in the terms and conditions is "Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Loyalty Bonus, Platinum Bonus Reward, Platinum One Bonus Reward and Status Accelerator/Challenge earn requirements."

Indeed, and if the DSCs didn’t count toward lifetime status, that would be the first time ever. Methinks this would be another case of QF staff giving incorrect info.

The person I had on the phone was 100% sure about it though.
Do they send T&C's when choosing DSC options?

I am of the same opinion as the other so far, I am confident the DSC will count toward lifetime tally.

Those who have flights pending refund with their travel agent might be interested by this.

Looks like Qantas is streamlining the travelpass request process for travel agents, with the choice of incentives among the three already listed.

This page is recent, and still under development at the moment.

This makes sense for me. I have on file a credit for cancelled DSC expiring 14 Feb 21 value $148. Rang the call centre and this was updated to a DSC offer expiring 2022.

By August next year I will have a better idea if it is worth doing a status run and leveraging the StatusKeeper bonus SC to requalify for Gold. If not, I guess it just sits there until 2022.

...

I also have a flight credit of this DSC period. Did you call and just say you have reconsidered and want a refund, and they put this offer to you? I think the flights were cancelled or rescheduled at the time it was converted to credit so wondering if I can have this updated to the 2022 DSC offer too.

Just call up and join the 30 minute queue or get the call back. Call back actually happened on time.

There was no grilling or questioning, just a process.

She made a change to my current credit booking, asked me which option I wanted for the extension extra $$%, DSC etc. I didn't get anything actually reissued.

(Alternatively I could get a cash refund but now they have locked in the money for two years at no cost for some intangible possible future benefit. Good move on QF part. )

Oh something else i forgot. The double status credit flight period is to 31 dec 2022. So you have to fly by this date to get the double status credits.

Sorry where are you getting that from? travel pass states
" This offer is valid when you make a new Eligible Flight booking between 12.01am (AEST) 1 September 2020 and 11.59pm (AEDT) 31 December 2022. "

it just says MAKE a new booking by end 2022, not fly. i take this to mean that if i book on 31/12/2022 thw last flight - i have almost to the end of 2023 or whatever it is 358 days or something that qantas releases its schedule in advance? anyone care to clarify?

I asked the lady at platinium she says I am correct. bookings until 31/12/2022 are for double SC during 2023 as well. only reason i took the vouchers. some 4k worth of double scs.

Has anyone used a TravelPass with DSC yet? How long did it take for the DSC to be credited?
I have done 4 flights booked with different TravelPass DSC offers but have not yet got the DSC credited (2 and 3 weeks ago). It says up to 6 weeks though, but was wondering if there is any experience here?
