first world problems....

So after checking the movie selection for Sept on Q's Mel to LA flight, I'm less than pleased...1 - half the time the month wasn't even there and the other time the page didn't populate correctly, but let's assume that was my browser and 2 - the once time I think I saw the selection there was not a single movie I was interested in. However, somewhere it also said something about there being 100's of movies whereas the list was more like 20 movies.

Which is it?

And what has happened to their selection?

I noticed a change around 3 years ago. I used to love catching up on good movies - first runs that sometimes weren't even out of the theater in Australia. Now, it's horrible unless you are a 16 year old. One of the perks of my infrequent business travel is the break from my young/active family and chilling out watching movie after movie. I can only fit so many on my iPad (and I don't have time to run out and buy an external drive at this point).

I think the website is just listing the new release highlights not the entire selection. I agree its terrible at listing them sometimes and half the pages dont work. Then they just get transferred to current month broken as well

There are still other movies that arent listed available. Ive seen the Godfather and Pulp Fiction among other things listed.

There are indeed, on the aircraft.

The delay in releasing new films in Australia has decreased significantly over recent years, due to digital projection. The opportunity to see major films that aren't on release in Oz is greatly reduced, for all carriers

My recollection from looking in the past is that they only put a sub-set of the actual movies on the web-site. In particular, there is a long list of movie classics that are available which are not listed.

I agree about the movie selection being disappointing. Onboard I usually end up watching things from the TV section of the menu instead of the movie section.

I've enjoyed Jaws and Dirty Harry earlier in the year from the Classics selection but otherwise I too find the movie selection ranges from poor to another word that represents 'less than poor'. Even if you don't consider the movie choice palatable then it surely would be in the company's favour to publish a fuller list?

On the plus side I discovered Westworld on a QF41. Not having cable TV at home this was a welcome addition to the IFE.

If you think QF is poor you should see BA's. On a recent trip i they had a top 40 count down music playlist. It went something like. You listen to 40 followed by the announcer saying 39 is x, 38 is y, 37 is z and here is 36.
It got better as you got closer to the top 5 but of 40 songs you only hear about 20 max.
