Qantas Premium Economy Companion Sale Query?

Hi everyone,

I just received the email for the Premium Economy Companion Sale.

It lists Melbourne to Tokyo for $1499 return, however when I try to search the dates it covers, I do not find fares for those prices, they are $2231. I entered 2 passengers, also as per the sale entered departure dates between Monday and Friday

Can anyone advise how I can take advantage of the sale prices, when they are not in the search?

I also have a question regarding this sale, thought I would ask it here rather than a new thread.

For business class companion to USA the fare rules are a little confusing. In the 'headline' where it talks about the number of QFFF points you can earn etc etc it says cancellations are $400. But in the fare rules it says cancellations are $600, or $400 and the value can be used as credit.

Which one is it? If pax cancel outright, and don't wish to reuse the fare, is it a one-off $600? Otherwise it wouldn't seem to make sense that it's both $600 and $400 for a reissue?

Cancellation (including no show)

Before and After departure:

• Cancellation fee A$600 per person applies. (no charge for infants paying 10% of the fare)
• Cancellation after no show ticket is non refundable

This fare may be used as credit towards the payment of any higher fare from the point of origin, provided the new fare conditions are met. A reissue fee of A$400 per person applies or No Show A$800 per person applies. Cancellations after No Show, ticket is non-refundable. If the new fare is cancelled the original fare cancellation conditions will apply. This credit must be used within 12 months of the original tickets date of issue.

Note: If this fare is combined with another fare the most restrictive cancellation conditions apply.
Note: If this fare is booked as part of the Companion Sale, 2 or more adult fare passengers must be booked and travel together. Child discounts do not apply. If this fare is booked as part of the Companion Sale, the fare is non-refundable.​

Even after clicking to book it at the wrong price $4462 for 2 which they advertise as $2998, I get the following error message.

Please review the following items

• The requested cabin class is full or not available in at least one of the options listed below. (5003 UI)

This appears to be the sale that isn't a sale at all, I've tried multiple dates within the sale period and the same for all, no sale.

I have the same email but it must be somehow connected to the new backward thinking QF web page as it's completely blank apart from subject line when I look at it on two different mobile devices.

Oh well.

Seems they weren't from Melbourne. When I tried Sydney - Tokyo, I found some of the specials.
They certainly didn't make it very easy
