Discover USA Deals (DFW $3,630 & JFK $3,680); and
Premium Economy Offer (NRT $2,000 & HKG)

edit: Was impressed with the NRT fares from $2k return, but it has disappeared today (1 June) & now replaced with Santiago.

How much above economy do people think airlines should charge for Y+?

I would seriously consider it if it was 50% more than Y but QF seem to constantly price it 100% more than Y - I'd rather have 2 Y trips than 1 Y+ trip!

Above which economy fare? The economy fare range significantly from the cheapest fare sales to the fully flexible economy fares. Its possible for a "sale fare" for Y+ (which includes restrictions) will be less than a full-flexible Y fare.

So I can only suggest an "up-lift" amount for fares with comparable terms and conditions around flexibility, refunds, availability, routing restrictions, minimum and maximum stays etc. For fares with the same conditions, I suggest 50% uplift is appropriate. But of course this depends on the product being offered. For example, I consider QF's Premium Economy is almost a J- product while BA's is really a Y+ product.

Yes, i 'discovered' this deal about a week after completing payment for a Y+ fare from BNE-JFK for $4,157 in total. It was a good deal so thought I better snap it up before I missed my chance...... of being able to purchase an even cheaper fare lol. Oh well, still a good deal. The difference would have paid for my first class fare on AA from JFK-MIA-Key West. Though I am seriously considering the short hop over to Princess Juliana Airport so I can be one of those tools that get sand blown in their face by a jet engine in take off mode. Though the hotels are worth visiting apparently.
