Qantas New Partner - BP

How do you guys know when the price changes are coming? I'm QLD-based, if that makes a difference.

How do you guys know when the price changes are coming?

ACCC hosts a very handy page showing the cycles in major cities:

Unfortunately the claiming of my missing 10SC from the Platinum newsletter is not going particularly smoothly. Apart from being addressed as Mrs twice now by the person responding to my email (which is not the right salutation for this Mr) they're also not filling me with confidence by now claiming they need to send my evidence to BP for review, given that the awarding of the 10SC should hinge only on whether I earned >=100 points from BP over that month. This shouldn't need BP's input at all.

Second that considering the offer was part of the Platinum newsletter that came from Qantas and not BP.

The QF agent I got went as far as denying the offer exists because they could not find a record of it on their system.
Stilll waiting for mine to post. I emailed QFF on 13 December attaching the Platinum newsletter from Qantas and a copy of the BP spend posting of 197 points into my QFF account during the promotional period as evidence. I got a response on 18 December saying "we are further checking at our end" and to allow 2-3 business days for an update. Then nada. I called on 16 January and they provided a non-committal response to any further action other than "we are looking into it" and they will get back to me. Have not heard back.

Sigh. Just sent a response to the email from 18 December asking for the promised credits. Again. If I don't hear by Friday I am raising a complaint.

I also got the run-around. I suspect the only way to get these SCs will be a complaint to Consumer Affairs. I'm at a loss as to why their failure to detect certain people had earned 100 points from BP within a given date range (should be pretty easy, I earned over 400 in multiple txns) is causing them so much trouble - surely one look at the T&Cs which state only that you must have earned 100+ points between the given dates and then a look at the point earn in the account would be enough to validate the claim.

I am at a loss too since the evidence is there to see in my QFF account, and clearly others have had the SCs post without issue so it is a valid promotion they offered. How hard is it to just check the account and then post the obviously missing credits? Why stuff around so much with some of your members? Great way to lose custom, I've already stopped using the points mall because I got tired of chasing up promised points and have also ceased ordering from Qantas Wine for the next few months because 2 of the 4 last orders never arrived (and it would appear from the tracking information were never dispatched) and after chasing them up with the Phillippines "customer service" who just kept saying 'we will get back to you' for over two weeks after the covid-allowed delivery times had passed I still got no wine and nothing offered.

I sent a formal complaint to Qantas with the below form and that got at least an offer of replacement wine which I hope turns up.

With the seven cent price difference with the local market (with BP being more expensive), even 98 RON at triple points still will cost me about one cent per QF point (not SC).
Fortunately I can wait for "specials"
While non-wandering

At the low end of the price cycle, the difference between BP and my cheapest local is 3-4c per litre max (an independent who also throws a surcharge on Amex)

Not likely to use this one with the forced in-store purchase.

No min spend though, the 8 bonus points per litre on a full tank of 98 is worth more than the cheapest item in the store.

One of my local BPs has a basket of bananas at the counter for $1 each. Otherwise gum, coffee, etc...

The 200 winners of 100,000 Qantas points + $100 BP gift card (lol) competition have been drawn - hopefully some AFF members on this list!!

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Double points on fuel or 10x Qantas Points when using BPme.

The only trouble is that there is a 6c/l difference between the BP and the Woolworths Caltex for U98. Throw in a 4c/l discount at Woolies and payment made via 5% discounted WISH eGC and BP isn't even close to getting my business.

Here Woolies isn't in the price game (at all)
and the 98 RON price difference with the discounters is down to 5c....

Fortunately i do no use much 98RON while wandering
Fred

PS Our local prices are as good or better than in Perth

Activated the 10 points/L, went and filled up yesterday and points in my account today. I hadn't used the app before, so didn't realise you had to select everything before filling up. Activated it afterwards, went to the register, explained what I did, they did something in their system and the app updated instantly and completed payment.

There's no onboarding on the app which is a little lazy.
