Qantas New Partner - BP

_Another_ loyalty scheme...

Looks like BP are wanting some of that loyalty revenue pie. I don't think there's enough space for another to grow,

Ouch, thats a real pity.
Back to Coles Express then, for earning FB then to VFF.
But there are several BP contract outlets (OTR in SA), near my place, I sitll "win", but its a pity no more direct bonus VFF earns anymore.
Thanks for the tip.

Excellent news - I avoid Woolies fuel due to suspect quality and long queues.

Program will be called BP Rewards, based on the BPme Rewards scheme in the UK, and offer BP Rewards points at the pump and in the servo - but according to BP will also offer direct-earn on Qantas Points rather than a Woolies-style conversion between BP and QF points.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I’m fortunate in having several BP servos around my neighborhood, but points don’t always drive my choice. Some of the indies have very sharp pricing.

BP most convenient and well priced in my area. But car use has dropped dramatically so fuel bills have plummeted - will be interesting to see how the points earn compares QFF to VFF.

I just read about this on the AFR web site (behaind a paywall so I won't provide the link).

There is a BP near the Woolworths petrol station that I use so I will be interested to see if the pricing at the BP competes with this new partnership.

Be interesting to see how Caltex (single branded rather than Woolies) react - although admittedly if memory serves they've decided to get out of retailing, again.

They've had some pretty good Qantas Biz Rewards sign on bonuses in the last 12mths when taking out a Starcard.

Edit - just read on AusBT that BP Plus fuel cards "will become the exclusive fuel partner" of the Qantas Business Rewards program.

Caltex have ended their relationship with Myer One, which is a pity as you could double dip with scanning your Woolworths rewards card.

Bad news in my opinion - Qantas points are easy to earn elsewhere - one less VA regular option now - I have too many compared to Velocity, and award availability despite recent changes aren't great - I much prefer VA and EY for booking domestic awards last minute as more options and taxes a lot cheaper than on QF redemptions - I'll probably look to switch to the local independent now rather than use BP - I was ok to pay more for BP as no fee for amex and earned VA points but prefer the 3-4c per litre savings now rather than get more QF points. My valuation of a QF point is about half that of a VA point as a result. May prompt me to switch a QF earn card over to VA to compensate too.

“We know that access to rewards is an important driver when it comes to consumer choice," said Brooke Miller, BP Australia's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Our research shows a significant portion of customers choose a service station based on rewards alone." - Taken from Executive Traveller.

Really? 'A significant portion?' 🤣 Then why bother dropping fuel prices at all, clearly a 'significant portion' don't care about prices.

Just joined BP Plus this week for the 8 work vehicles as a new BP has just opened at very convenient location for us.
The opportunity for QF points a bonus, as we dont get points on our Caltex cards.

As a Plat QFF chasing LTG, and a believer in BP being the best-refined 98RON for my beloved V8.... hooray, about time. Woollies is soon to get all my supermarket shopping back off Coles, as flybuysVA, for my profile, was just an end to the odd $10 BP fuel discounts, which I only redeem at those >$1.80/L fuel peaks. Now that Woollies Rewards seem to be bringing in more regular big bonus point offerings, the 870 QFFP transfers are going to also become more frequent. Thanks BP/QF, I’ve been waiting for this. Sorry Coles... no doubt a lot of other QFFer BP loyalists out there.
