I'd like to walk back my comment on getting a litre or two of fuel being the walk of shame as clearly what I did today was more so - I went and grabbed a 2L bottle of milk for my first transaction and the guy was visibly confused at what I was up to. Clearly not many people swing by BP just for a bottle of milk (and at their prices I do understand why). Next time I'll put in a litre of $1.70 diesel (as much as that hurts, but admittedly would have been less of a loss than I just suffered buying milk if you don't count the QFF points that I am hoping I got) and see if it's a less awkward experience.

But that purchase of milk does help reduce their stock levels and thus, increase margins and thus profits.
I am sure that stuff like convenience food that they don't/can't sell, is either tossed or donated to charity, so they do make a a bit of a loss.
Apart from pump and run or theft of convenience items that is.

I used to go to my local OTR when they had VFF points earn on that VGW card, and always told them "no fuel, thanks".

You're right, and that's exactly what I did say to the guy (there's a promo for QFF points, can you make sure my card scanned - lucky I asked that because he told me it hadn't and so I did it again) and got an inquisitive stare back so I guess it's just a lack of understanding of the way promos work on their part. I've always had this, each and every time I've gone to this particular BP for QFF promos - got the same stare when I went during the 50SC/$50 promo to change BBQ gas bottles over twice, I guess they just can't work out why I don't just go to Coles/Bunnings for cheaper like others do if I'm not buying fuel at the same time, although the last promo was around the time of restrictions / curfews etc in Victoria so it may have actually legitimately seemed strange that I was throwing so many barbeques, but hey - as you rightfully point out, why do they care? It's money for them. I guess they think I'm odd and I think they're odder

So many ways to earn QFF points without flying these days, granted some don't like it this way.

You may have to put 2 in. Pumps around where I live tend to have a 2 litre minimum delivery!

According to the Ts&Cs: Bonus Qantas Points will be awarded to the Qantas Frequent Flyer account 6 to 8 weeks after the completion of the Promotion Period. Qantas Frequent Flyer and BP Rewards terms and conditions apply.

Question: I usually scan the BP Rewards card (earning Qantas points) in the BPMe app which has worked for other promotions - presume this will still satisfy requirement c) above? Tks!

EDIT: redundant question. Further down the Ts&Cs: You must present and scan your BP Rewards or Qantas Frequent Flyer card or digital card at the time of purchase.

I wasn't quite sure why I got 1000 points credited to my account but when googling found the below. No way I'm going to buy 1000 litres a month but a free 10K is fine by me. I believe you'll need an ABN (which fortunately I have).

What's really confusing is that this offer popped up twice in my Inbox.

The first one expires 22 Feb and the other expires 1 March.

Looks like the IT intern did the 1st one with the incorrect date! Couldn’t register with the 1st but the 2nd worked…
