Not sure if this is something new but I was just looking at the complimentary invitation page on the Qantas website. Alongside the usuals of Singapore and Perth, it now mentions that you can't use the invitations for the London Lounge. Not sure how new this is but I used a few in London last year. Is overcrowding an issue? They only have two flights a day.

The restriction is relatively new, a friend of mine used a complimentary pass at the London lounge in mid May.

I'll bet Qantas have looked at their forward bookings over the European summer and realised they'd be in strife if passes were permitted. A direct result of most QFF-earning Platinum / Black cards coming with passes and running 3-4 DSC promos over a 12 month period..

There’ll be a lot of disgruntled mums and dads on QF1/2 not able to redeem their passes enroute to LHR

Well they can still redeem before QF1 in Sydney but not en-route at SIN; nor on QF at LHR or SIN.

I can't see any reason why QF need to limit access to their own lounge when they can send people to the other oneworld lounges in the same lounge area. CX, BA and AA all have both J and F lounges within 3 minutes walk of the QF LHR lounge. While the lounge invite pass holders wouldn't be able to access the other oneworld lounges with their pass, all the J, F, Gold and Platinum pax on the QF flights can.

Yes but the AA lounge is absolutely nothing to write home about, of course why can't they send their lounge pass holders there much like they used to do with QP members a few years ago?

So basically the complimentary international QF lounge passes are useless?

General lounge invitation – these can be used at any Qantas Club domestic lounge, Qantas International Lounge or Qantas operated International Business Lounge (excluding Los Angeles Tom Bradley Terminal) when departing on a Qantas or Jetstar flight number.

Qantas International Lounges

Lounge invitations are not currently accepted at the Qantas lounges in Perth (except Perth Qantas Club), The Qantas Singapore Lounge and The Qantas London Lounge.

Except when you travel with children and you cannot access the other lounges even being a emerald one world FF because children are counted towards guest numbers with other airlines, and with QF you only need to guest your partner and the children get in without being counted.

There's only two daily QF flights but many more oneworld flights and every non-QF customer walking through the QF lounge door is $$ for the Red Roo. You can bet your bottom dollar these pax will have priority over guest pass holders.

Seems comp passes are being accepted at LHR and SIN again

So, you managed to get in? I was starting to think that this was becoming a sort of Claytons Pass.

No, but they have reinstated the ability to link lounge invitations to flights departing those airports and removed them from the "ineligible" list.

I just linked 2 invitations for my son. QF2 and QF38 in 2 weeks time.

Was:
Lounge invitations are not currently accepted at the Qantas lounges in Perth (except Perth Qantas Club), The Qantas Singapore Lounge and The Qantas London Lounge.

Now:
Lounge invitations are not currently accepted at Perth - Qantas International Business Lounge (T1) and Perth - Qantas International Business Lounge (T4).

Would appear you cannot link complimentary lounge invitation to jetstar booking if departure lounge location is Singapore. Does not appear in the list of valid departure lounge locations

Must admit I didn’t check JQ, only QF.
