Qantas Hotel recommendation in Madrid?

Coming up in December I have a 6:30pm arrival in Madrid then flying out again 3:40pm the next day, both flights Terminal 4. Flight in international, flight out Schengen.

Going to book a hotel with Qantas as they have a 7x points offer on this week, and more importantly it will qualify as an eligible tranaction for the QFF business rewards promo getting me another 10,000 points

I don't need anything flash, I'm not planning on doing much there other than bathing and sleeping. Just like three dog night I've never been to Spain and I can't think of anyone I know there, so want to make the most of my time and have a night out in Madrid and some sightseeing the next morning.

I was initially looking at airport hotels but given I'd have to get from the terminal to the hotel, check in, get into town, get back, then do the same thing again the next morning, then get back to the hotel again to pick up my bags and then get to the actual terminal, I reckon I'm better off in the centre to maximise my time there. And it'll probably work out cheaper even though the centre hotels are more expensive since it's saving two trips in & out.. I understand that taxi fares are now fixed rate at 30€ from the airport to anywhere in town so I'll probably do that, but open to better suggestions.

Anyone here with any recommendations for a not too exxy Qantas Hotel in town? Or any that have a shuttle, as far as I can tell only the chain airport hotels do?
