Hi folks,

First time poster so I apologise in advance for the question below. I have tried to search a definitive answer but am without luck.

I have an FF anniversary date of 31 July, and this year to date have 350 SC. I have only completed 3 of the necessary 4 Qantas eligible flights (most SC on Cathay) to qualify for Silver but am booked back to China on QF 31 July.

My question relates to whether or nor that flights counts on 31 July counts towards this year's activity for Silver recognition- do the SC (and eligible flights) reset at the close of business that day, or beginning of the day?

I can't really change the date (work booking) so am wondering if I should just purchase an eligible JQ fare before hand to make sure.

Any advice offered would be appreciated.

As long as the flight departs on or before 31 July, I do believe it will count towards getting you silver in your current membership year. :)

As mattg said, the flight posts based on the departure date of the country you leave from. So if you have your fourth squiggle flight on 31 July, that's fine.

Firstly, welcome aboard!

To answer your question, it's as the others said, with the addition that the ~ and SC's post in the year that the flight was Scheduled in. For example if it was delayed until 1am on 1 August you would still get credit for 31 July.

As long as the flight is a revenue fare (not Classic award) then that's fine.

Hi Craig Daly, welcome to AFF!

No drama at all. Flights will credit for the current year if *scheduled* to depart prior to midnight on the 31st .... regardless of where that is in the world.

So: flight delayed and doesn't depart until August 1 .... will still credit back effective the 31st.

Flight is scheduled to depart July 31 11:59pm ex LAX (well into August 1 in SYD) ... will still credit effective the 31st.

NB: QFF allows some leeway into the new membership year to allow for these credits to apply, it's not like your Silver status would immediately fall on your account at 12:01 on August 1.

Chill, don't even think about the cardinal sin of flying orange (that's a joke in case anyone is wondering!!) and you'll gain the ~ required.

Regards,

BD
