As Im a July expiry I miss out :( Given there will be no chances to fly anywhere outside NSW this year and no international flights before July next year, i cant see anyway to earn enough SC's to renew the traditional way. Hoping for an extension.

I have end October expiry and had already Qualified to Oct 2022 with a (flown) booking on the prior scheme.
Yes - similar boat here. Expiry is this month, but flew against the earlier promo in Feb 2021, so already qualified through Aug 2022 after this month ends. Do we think this is a possibility for an additional extension for those on that promo, or no?

Edit to add: maybe I should just make a booking for the heck of it. All very flexible these days in any event.

It will happen. No one is going anywhere for the next few months anyway.

Another July expiry who was only 40 SC short of meeting the WP renewal test anyway, with SC bonuses etc and have been renewed to July 2022. Certainly hope that they look at a further extension for us as I've already had four proposed trips since July cancelled due to lockdowns ...

(It is hard work keeping WP flying domestically on Red edeals as I do!)

Dec 31 membership year resets. I have, booked & flown a handful of flights in the earlier status extension promo, so that takes me to Dec 2022 as WP. So I don't need to do anything now, am I right?

On re-reading the article on AFF, a flight booking needs to be made between now and anniversary date to activate the offer. I already have several bookings, so they will not count. Presumably classic reward flights will count as they did previously, so I will just cancel one of my current reward flights and book again.

I have a February 28 anniversary and have already earned more than enough SC to renew next year. So its great news that these SC will roll over to the following year. Thank you Qantas. Now for the official email to arrive!

Not all of them will rollover, it's the 40% thing....

If you’re eligible, Qantas will rollover eligible Status Credits earned in the Membership Year ending between 31 January 2022 and 30 June 2022 up to a cap of at least 40% of the Status Credits required to retain your tier. This rollover will apply for Membership Years starting between 1 February 2022 and 1 July 2022

I would say so - and hope so, as I too have a 30 June renewal date. I've just made a booking this morning for work travel next week, so hopefully that ticks it over, and moves my expiry date out to June 2023.
I'm also a June renewal date. I'm not 100% sure, but I think this means that I'm covered by this promotion.

Edit: I think it's covered according to the QANTAS web site.

This is excellent news for me. My status was due to run out end May 2022 and given that the majority of my SC earn is International I would have had zero hope of keeping P1.
I’ll keep doing hopeful bookings and travel when I can throughout the year but without the stress of worrying about retention.

More information always comes to light when you read further. So for me, I still have to make another booking to rollover 480 SCs. (40% of required SC to retain WP.) Without that booking, I would start afresh at zero.

“If I've already retained my status, will it still be extended by 12 months?
No. If you’ve already retained your status then you will enjoy your current benefits for 12 months after your current Membership Year ends.

The status extension is offered as support for members who are not able to retain in their own right. “

“Can my current Status Credits be rolled over to my next Membership Year?
Yes. If you’re eligible, Qantas will rollover eligible Status Credits earned in the Membership Year ending between 31 January 2022 and 30 June 2022 up to a cap of at least 40% of the Status Credits required to retain your tier. This rollover will apply for Membership Years starting between 1 February 2022 and 1 July 2022.”

It then goes on to disply the same table used every time. BUT…you need to book a flight to enable rollover of SC. So worthwhile doing.
