Qantas extends status extensions until end June 2023 (previously December 2022)

So let me get this straight, the flight I booked and took back in March with QF would qualify me for the QF status roll over, with all of the JQ flights I've taken since the beginning of program year (Dec 1, 2021) through end of program year (Nov 30, 2022) would qualify for rollover, up to a maximum of 250 SCs (as I'm Gold)? That kind of changes things for me in program year 2023 since I'll be starting the year with roughly 900 SCs between the roll over credits, the 100 SCs from the Green tier for 2022 and 2023 and the 50 status credits for flying 500 SCs with JQ/QF. Add a simple US domestic flight and I'll easily accumulate the 500 status credits necessary to hit Executive Platinum on QF.

I, too, hope to start the year with 250 (gold rollover limit) + 100 (pc+) + 50 (green 2022). Add on green tier 2023 and i'm only 200 off renewal. I doubt I'll get the 50 scs for 500 QF/JQ as you will, but have some DSC flights booked for early program year 2023 to hopefully hit the retain goal early.

IIRC there used to be a table on the page linked earlier above that stated that the gifted/awarded/status support credits from the status year ending 2022 are explicitly not eligible for rollover.

I think that table is on this page:

I should cross that 500 SC threshold to earn bonus 50 SCs by October, with me exercising the bonus SCs in early December. As it stands I've racked up 260 SCs this year on QF/JQ domestic. I've got a long-haul "domestic" flight to HNL next weekend which will earn me a further 90 SCs. Then a further 60 SCs in August on a JQ MAX fare to CNS, a further 80 SCs on a JQ MAC fare to PER in Sep, with me crossing over the 500 SC threshold in October with a JQ MAX flight to TSV (all ex-SYD). The only uncertainty here of course is COVID, but everything is booked to hitting that goal.

Regardless, next year should be cake walk for me re-qualifying for Gold with status credit rollovers and the DSC "domestic" J flight to AKL booked in early Jan. The real question for me is where I should focus my travel on in 2023. By then I should have DL Gold status compliments of a status match with United and me taking a KLM J flight over to GLA (from YYZ) in July. I likely won't have my UA Gold status by then (unless the powers that be decide I'm worthy for yet another status extension). I might status match with UA then if the offer is right. Regardless, I plan on travelling quite a bit next year, certainly as much if not more than this year between conferences and everything else.

QF Gold flying coughstar, now there's something to behold.
At least coughstar CC answer the phone I guess.
In fairness, the deals on JQ were really good during the various SUNTANS fare period. Flying SYD > DRW for $300 on a MAX fare, $500 on a "domestic" Plus fare from SYD to HNL or $160 on a MAX fare to MEL ain't bad in my books. Don't get me wrong I flew a number of flights with QF like SYD > BNE, BNE > LRE, SYD > CBR but good deals with QF are harder to find, particularly on ultra long haul "domestic" fares (i.e. to LAX or YVR). In those cases, Star Alliance is almost always cheaper by a country mile (and often have better odds at scoring an upgrade to boot!).

Given status rollover credits for GOLD not Platinum

No auto status credit rollover - I did however get 250 manual status credits after emailing QFFF email address.

I was GOLD for most of last membership year - however in the last 4 weeks of the membership year, I attained Platinum, and was elevated 4 weeks before my current membership year finished.

When my membership year ended - I was Platinum.

As I had already attained Platinum, I was expecting status credit rollover for my current Platinum level to automatically rollover into the next membership year, capped at 40% of the number of status credits needed to RETAIN my current tier - ie. 500 status credits to RETAIN Platinum.

I was however only given 250 status rollover credits (the Gold benefit) - any idea's what's happening here...

Is this right...??

Got my rollover today - manual intervention via the call centre.

So today I received another 500 SCs rollover - seems to be automatic (probably rectifying the previous problem) but didn’t recognise I’d already received mine manually.

That means I’ve now got double - 1000 SCs - but expecting they’ll find out at some point and take them back.

Same thing just happened to me. Do you have any update?

Sorry to say - this was painful and tedious to resolve.

1. Numerous phone calls - polite operators who said they understood and would rectify
2. Formal complaint after waiting 7 days with no changes
3. Followup on formal complaints - polite operators who advised it will be sorted
4. Followup with FF centre via emails - further apologies, no changes
5. Second formal complaint with more aggressive tone - resolved with 2 apologetic emails following

All sorted now (sigh of relief..)

I wish you luck - it appears that if I didn't followup, nothing would have happened.

So you now have 500 SC rolled over? I’ll be leveling up to Platinum this membership year and would like to have 500 SC rolled over too. It would certainly make retaining Platinum a lot easier next membership year.

Understand - at the end of my membership year I had Platinum membership and wording indicates I would get 500 SC rolled over - which I eventually got.

How do people based overseas trigger the status extension?
They have stopped flying to Hong Kong and my last 6 trips have been on Cathay.
Do I book a cheap qantas flight and simply not board? There is no way I can easily get on flight with #@!#!# quarantine hotel restrictions for HK and Qantas don't fly here anyway.
I have a return flight from SYD-HKG that they cancelled ages ago (2020), never got usable flight credit, nor did they refund me either (even after they said they would).

IIRC, QF members who live overseas (or at least, have an overseas address), were automatically extended to December 2022. No flights required.

July 31 anniversay for me, I notice today 1 August my Gold status has been retained BUT none of my SCs have rolled over yet, I am banking on the roll-over to hopefully make Platinum this year (that will of course require another DSC promo by end of March); how long after anniversary do they typically take to post?

Both my status support and Points Club Plus rollover took 24-48 hours last month.

Ditto. WP retained thanks to “Status Keeper”.

Yes, I was expecting a slight delay in SC rollover based on previous comments.
