Qantas extends status extensions until end June 2023 (previously December 2022)

Can you go back to them and ask for a refund, quoting the same day extension?
I am a strong supporter of SQ and normally do not have a bad thing to say about their service, more recently getting through to SQ is difficult enough (unless PPS or Solitaire) and if you ask a question that is off script getting an answer or call back can be more challenging.

Yep - indeed. If I can send a few lines in a webform and my miles show up again in a few months, great. Anything else is too painful, for the price!

So I gather if I use a flight credit to book a flight before end of year, that wont trigger the 12 month extension ?

if I use a Qantas pass, because it a payment method not a booking that it will trigger the extension ?

or do I need spend more dime ?

Please have a read of the T&C to double check but I was of the understanding flight credit and Qantas Pass (among a range of specified payment options) as payment of a booking made before the end of a membership year was sufficient to extend for 12 months

Yes

, done
Links on page 1 of this thread. So the above are payment options...

sounds like the booking creation date is different field to booking reference # PRN date....

I think the thread went OT for a few posts @Captain Halliday posted at #278 something about SQ, maybe excited about todays SQ announcements. My post at #284 was also about about SQ  by post #286 we seem to be back on topic discussing QF :)

Yep, my bad. That was in response to #276 mentioning the extension with (other airline) and I just thought I was in the (other airline) thread.

Now deleted. Sorry.

Personally I would use the TP to book a new flight to qualify.. Just to be safe and sure than potentially having to follow up after the fact. That's just me.

No real need to delete it there were a few of us who seem to have got excited about the SQ announcement and thought we were in that other SQ thread :)

Hi All,

Wasn't QF supposed to automatically extend all overseas residents status for 12 months till 2023? I'm a Feb member and my status still shows only valid till Feb 2022.

Ignore the middle column as that wouldn't apply to you, but the extensions are processed in the week leading up to your anniversary:

Your anniversary date hasn’t been reached yet. Renewal will be at the end of February.

Question about rollover SC's - my status year ended 31 Dec, and at that point I had only 40 new SC's from 2021, which were credited back on 1 Jan 2022 with "Status Support - Status Credit Rollover" as expected. My QP status is still intact for 2022 as expected having met the one-flight criteria last year.

The challenge is that I also earned 150 SC's on 25 Dec 2021 for flights on FJ which were credited on 14 Jan 2022, with these SC's immediately deducted once again as "Expired Status Credits." This part is expected since these were earned in the previous status year. However, this means that these 150 SC's didn't rollover - there's no further re-crediting of these 150 SC's as rollover.

Question - do you think this be fixed automatically if I wait a while, or do I need to contact QFF?

The point may be academic as I doubt I will be able to reach 1200 SC's this year (with only 190 rolled over), so will probably drop to Gold on 1 Jan 2023 anyway, but I would still like them to be credited just in case.

I suspect you will need to contact them to manually correct

I have only managed to get 450 status credits past 10 months so will my Gold go or will it be extended ? it currently expires April 2022. I might do couple more flights but unsure in the current covid situation.

As per post #293 above, you don't need any minimum status credits at all for your current status to be extended, if eligible it will be activated automatically at the end of April 2022 for another year. The sole eligibility requirement is that you have at least one segment booked and flown through Qantas in the status year - which hopefully you've done if you've reached 450 SC's. If all of your SC's are through partner airlines you would not be extended unless you reach the full 600 (though any rolled over SC's from prior years will count towards this).

Edit: as per next post correction

small point....I think its just booked (and not cancelled by traveller) in the status year - one can travel on said booking outside the status year.

I think 250SC of those 450SC will be rolled over for the next year.
