Qantas extends status extensions until end June 2023 (previously December 2022)

Question about rollover SC's - my status year ended 31 Dec, and at that point I had only 40 new SC's from 2021, which were credited back on 1 Jan 2022 with "Status Support - Status Credit Rollover" as expected. My QP status is still intact for 2022 as expected having met the one-flight criteria last year.

The challenge is that I also earned 150 SC's on 25 Dec 2021 for flights on FJ which were credited on 14 Jan 2022, with these SC's immediately deducted once again as "Expired Status Credits." This part is expected since these were earned in the previous status year. However, this means that these 150 SC's didn't rollover - there's no further re-crediting of these 150 SC's as rollover.

Question - do you think this be fixed automatically if I wait a while, or do I need to contact QFF?

Just a quick follow-up on this, I emailed my query as above to QFF on 18 Jan on the same day I posted this, and received the SC adjustment yesterday and an email reply today. So not a super fast turnaround but it was low priority and at least wasn't totally forgotten about.

Query for the brains trust, and apologies if someone else in the earlier pages has encountered the same issues but here goes. Just logged onto my Qantas account and it looks like I dropped from Plat to Gold. Anniversary end date was 31/1. Only paid travel (not using flight credits) were two JQ flights in October and two QF in January 2022, the latter booked in 2/1/22. I tonight see I've dropped to Gold and my ~800 SCs didn't roll over. Now what did I do wrong?

I've heard of a bunch of people with the same issue. Maybe QF forgot to implement the last round of extensions!

Travel is exPER QFF year ends 28 Feb
I booked award travel PER-ASP QF 700 to visit family original 09 Jan - changed to 27 Feb due to WA access changes
They are now departing overseas (so no one to visit/stay with) before the WA travel rules will likely be amended.

I would presume my cancellation of the ticket would mean the automatic renewal of my QFF status would not happen.
Therefore I will need to find a trip internal to WA to transfer the award ticket to (or buy a new one) UNLESS QF cancel the flight first. They seem to still be selling tickets on those direct PER-ASP flights.

Is my presumption valid or irredeemable wandering

I'd be calling them now if you've met the requirements. That is booked a QF coded flight in the right time period and before anniversary date.

Same here. Dropped down to Gold despite having booked / flown several eligible itineraries. Not impressed.
Pretty much everyone with status year ending June 30 will experience this issue then. Because it would be rare for anyone to achieve anywhere near enough credits through flying.

Same here, first time in about a decade that I was welcomed to my “golden” profile.

Looks like it might just be everyone- worth the call I wonder?

ouch. So initially I thought you were wrong and you would be extended, however per the status support page:

If you cancel your booking, you will not be eligible for the status extension unless you make another eligible booking.

this is different to the original promotion. It does state if QF cancel you're fine.

so yes I agree you'd have to book a new flight by end of Feb for travel by 30 June to qualify. Pick a flight QF might cancel?! :)

I wonder though if you cancelled in March, would they retract the extension? hmm

That is rather frustrating to be sure.

I'd say so. I'm flying this evening,

Met the requirements two fold actually - booked a flight in January for tonight (which Qantas cancelled both legs of, which is sufficient in itself for the requirements according to their wording) then rebooked (again booking made in Jan) with different routing. Both domestic operated by Qantas flights.

Yea- I’m flying in about three hours and have also met the requirements triple including this upcoming trip.

Super annoying- how long ago did they announce this extension and hence had time to sort out their systems to automate this?

I suspect a hasty fix is in the works as clearly this has been unintended. They seemed to get it right last year, but I guess the Jan-June '22 extensions are under different conditions to previous ones (such as the "if you cancelled flight you are not eligible" condition).

hopefully you all get your rightful status soon!

And the effort it will take to fix this January status extension stuff up will likely delay any announcement re July renewal extensions.

That's my suspicion too. But given that some of us fly already, there will also need to be some retrospective points readjustments needed and in the meantime, everyone with a status end date January 2022 will keep the call centre lines running. Lots of unnecessary work caused by this stuff up.

I doubt it.

this is a technical issue to be resolved while any decision/announcement on further extensions for Jul-Dec is one of policy. Would be made by different groups imo.

The announcement would be made by different groups, but no doubt they will be seeking IT assistance to provide data to determine how members are tracking towards qualifying without such intervention. And IT has to fix the issue but also need to design and build the logic/functionality for next round of extensions.

QF cut back on the size of their IT teams, there is indeed cross over.
