Sandwich of stringy shredded lamb and sweet onion. Could not stomach the foccacia so opened and appraised the contents, eating with a fork

Overly sweet and there was no sign of "mint salsa" or "salted chilli".

Tried for something "different" and a big fail.

We got on and left the stand on time but heavy rain meant we sat and waited for about 20 mins before we took off. Very turbulent meant we waited about an hour for lunch. Choice was moussaka, chicken salad or vegetable lasagna. Salads aren’t my thing which anybody who has met me can attest too and my last experience with a vegetable lasagna was also with QANTAS in Jan 2020 and it was appalling so the moussaka was the go. Came with a cherry fondant cake which was excellent.

Salted caramel and chocolate ice cream to follow.

Just as well. You wouldn't want to be vegetable lasagne...

SYD-LST on 717 - 24 Jan - flight departed at 11.15.

I had the Cornish pastie, partner had the salad. Pastie was awful. Saved partially by the chutney. Service was good.

I had the pork with potatoes. Partner had the beef brisket with corn cakes.

Mine was actually okay - pork was nice and tender. Pity I filled up in the lounge on a toastie.

Not sure how the brisket was but certainly no excited commentary was received.

Service excellent again on this flight but the food quality is still pretty substandard.

Going home after a widely unproductive week as usual. I really don’t like breakfast foods so I never get to excited but it was okay for what it was. Frittata with baked beans, a hash brown and bacon. The muffin was surprisingly good.

Great news .
Looks like Neil Perry is giving on his green leafed meals and moving into the kind of food that looks ok and is edible .
Qantas, please keep it up!

Come to think of it I’m pretty sure you’re right except I remember it as scrambled eggs but I guess was probably interchangeable. I remember the cabin crew coming through “scrambled eggs or cereal,” on morning flights back to the NT.
