Gosh this looks horrid. And not only because I'm allergic to fish 🤢
I had the curry barramundi on my lunchtime departure flight DRW-BNE two weeks ago. It does taste much better than it looks, the fish was very meaty and there was the right amount of curry. It was delicious and a very popular choice on the flight - alternative was, as always with Qantas, a chicken dish.

Looks can obviously be deceiving! I'll get my better half to try it if on offer next week because I unfortunately can't.

Chicken and mushroom pasta, it didn't look great but was excellent. There was also sausages and mashed potatoes or the grain salad that has been mentioned before.
QF842, Thursday the 15th of April
SYD-DRW, 2050 Departure, 4:30 flight time
Dinner

Thai fish curry with steamed rice and "greens." The fish certainly wasn't the freshest and the snow peas were soggy but the sauce was great and the rice perfectly moist so overall not bad. Also available was an Italian chicken (Tomato sauce) with mixed vegetables or the same grain salad. The Pinot Grigio was of decent quality and a red claw was available too.

Both the dessert, a chocolate and hazelnut cake and the ice cream were the exact same on both flights.

I think we should change how posting works in this thread. You post a picture of the meal and the rest of us try guess what it is.
You probably could've guessed my sausage roll on my morning BNE-CNS on Friday. Couldn't be mistaken for anything else? Interestingly, full cabin and they only had 4 salads, the rest sausage rolls.

Mystery Meat has been deemed to have been frequently served on AA in the past. The term covers a multitude of sins, so may be useful when describing some QF meals, if appropriate. 🤭

As much as I like food there are other reasons to fly business, not least of which is for more personal space and better leg room than most economy seats.
True, all depends on personal preferences. For me, the food and drinks would be of number one importance- drinks actually probably more important as I love my booze, especially on international legs :p

But of course, I value the space as well and more so even, the generally more personalised experience: A nice friendly greeting by name, a little chat with the crew here and there and so on- something most Qantas (and admittedly also Air NZ) crews are quite good with. Heck, in Business, even flights with the likes of LH or AF can turn from Economy hell into outright enjoyable experiences if you're lucky with your crew.

There also another huge factor for me which is rather personal: I'm a person who needs constant input and some Marvel movie on the IFE just doesn't cut it for me. So, in Economy (especially in an aisle seat where you can't see outside), I find the times before push back and then waiting for meals and so on just pure terror. Nothing to see really, nothing to do- awful. In Business, I usually nip on a glass of champagne, have a little chat with my flight attendant, then look outside and watch the aircraft being packed and so on- lovely, I don't even realise how quick the time moves on. Same on the flight itself, a nice 5 course meal with extensive wine selections and you're half through a flight up to Singapore or Bangkok. And you then get a proper bed for the rest.

Food and wine is very important to me.
