Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Had the peking duck pancakes on Per-Mel last week. Bloody delicious.

Was nicely countered by a horrible dry chicken kiev I had on my return journey. Didn't ever dare attempt the limp veggies on offer. The pork curry which was my first choice did look lovely from afar, unfortunately that was already out of stock.

1st world problem I know - but the crackers served with the cheese were terrible.

IMG_0803.jpgMeal offering on our lunchtime from from Melbourne to Brisbane today was a fetta cheese pie... Tasty but really very poor for a business class lunch, especially as this was a privately funded and paid ticket. My wife had the mushroom soup which was just ok. All in all hugely inadequate

For those not reading my Singapore TR, this was my CBR-MEL tag flight J meal on 13 Dec... a beef mince toastie.

With expectations very low given poor experiences on the dinner flights MEL-CBR, I was actually satisfied with the dish and service last night. Was a QF Link flight which may have made a difference. Service in J way quicker than previous QF link flights. Ebonie managed to serve a reasonably full J cabin (maybe 8 of us) the salad, offer one wine top-up, and offer tea and coffee (albeit after descent commenced).

The salad was smoked duck. Looks small but there was a reasonable amount of duck in fact and the salad was actually decent. probably helped that I wasn't too hungry given I had two lunches prior (in the AKL Emirates lounge then onboard the QF AKL-MEL flight).

I've only done Q-Link in whY but I am always happy with their service

Their Y service is excellent - even better if you get a flight with free booze and a boxed meal, or a warm box breakfast. Very fast and allows the 2 Y attendants to then go upfront and help the J attendant. I won't pay for J on such short flights (either personal travel or even for work) but when tacked on to international it's fine.

QF786 BNE-CNS 18/12 730pm departure

CSM Michael always had a bottle of wine in his hand topping up everyone's glass which was good to see, admittedly I wasn't drinking myself on this sector.

Indian lamb curry with naan bread.

Hi MEL_traveller, this is how it was presented. The curry is hidden by a thin layer of rice. It wasn't overly spicy and there wasn't a great deal of lamb. Compared to my flight down in J from CNS - BNE a few days earlier with VA - a bowl of mushroom soup, Qantas definitely wins in terms of service in this route (in my opinion), for this time of flight.

Breakfast MEL-SYD:

The scrambled eggs were grim, but the rest was actually very tasty, even the sausage which looked a bit anaemic.
The bread was nice and fresh too.
I won't comment on the spreadable blended 'butter', lest I incur the the righteous wrath of UTR again.
