Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Travelling on QF 616 to Brisbane next week on a lunch flight and have never had a decent lunch ever on this flight ( travel 5 times a year to Brisbane ) so we always make use of the business lounge in Melbourne by having a substantial brunch which has always been more than satisfactory.

I tend to do 618/619 more often than not and I find the lunches to be yeah.. the all day dining rubbish - a toastie (lately "jaffle"), soup and salad options. The soups are usually pretty good, but in the height of summer on a hot day I'm not a big fan of a bowl of soup - but that's just me I guess.

I would just mention I've had some ripper catering out of OOL though, on the 881 OOL-MEL flights - various options like stir fries, parmas and steak and veg

It's funny how around the system various stations seem to have different options even on similar stage length flights.

just my 2 cents

I generally think that the business class catering offerings, currently, to and from Brisbane, are very ordinary and I am not a big fan of soup as a business class meal.....Rarely over all the years we have been travelling to and from Brisbane ( over 28 ) have we ever had business class catering that meets the standard of business class IMO.

QF631 BNE-MEL on 04DEC16. The Black Forrest cake was better than anything offered by QF on J transcon in a long time.

Overheard the CSM taking the orders of the FA prior to take off, resulting in one meal option not being available for any J pax at all...

Had the beef cheeks as well. Veges tastedgood and beef was tender. QF655 CNS - BNE 17:10 departure 8 December

Apparently menu changes every Thursday

White wine was a Holm Oak Pinot Gris from Tasmania, I thought it tasted good

Maybe, just maybe Qantas have improved the offerings on 631....we wont be able to check it out until February.

Four flights in tha past fortnight. Meals barely fit for human consumption. A truly shameful performance by Qantas. Wines pitiful as well. Not much more one can say.

SYD-MEL yesterday.

Choices were a Bread and Butter pudding (which looked revolting), prosciutto, or fruit salad.

After a 3 hour delay it was a little bit disappointing. I was surprised to see yoghurt as a side on a non-breakfast flight too.

QF839 today, meal service, this "roast pork" was the hot choice.

Braised may be a better descriptor but it was tasty enough.
The lemon tart was pretty good

They will (or at least should). Also bloody marys and any other alcohol they happen, to
have onboard. Most I've ever asked for on a morning domestic flight is a Bloody Mary or a white wine - I don't care for QF's sparkling.

No Champagne on domestic flights afaik. You can get the Grant Burge sparkles as kermatu posted - if they only have the Yarra Burn, go for something else ;)

Sparkles is Aussie version of champers ....yea see how I go

may as well get the free starters in before play begins at the Gabba

Scheduled for 11am, but left at 2pm.

I suspect the original catering MAY have been replaced at late notice due to the prolonged delay (as there's only so long they can keep the food) - which may account for the odd and extra disappointing choices.
