And we werent even offered the bread to go with our salad on our recent flight in J from MEL to OOL whilst the row behind was indeed offered the sourdough...Couldnt be bothered asking as we didnt really want or need to eat the bread anyway !!

It amuses me that they serve sourdough on the side when the dish is a toastie...
Airlines don't seem to plan the "meal" as a whole, which seems silly to me. They use the old fashioned: third protein, third vegetables, and third carbohydrates to design the meal, and then totally forget about all the added carbohydrates they put along-side the main plate (bread, chocolate, dessert on transcon flights). Realistically I think they should probably drop the carbs off the main plate when designing the meals, as they will be well and truly represented to the side once served.

Virgin is just as bad, when they offer a cheese based main plate, and then serve cheese on the side as well. 🤷‍♂️

I can’t be the only one that wishes QF changed their bread offerings. I like the sour dough but having it for the last 5+ years is just ridiculous.
I love it and with my food allergies that is sometimes the only thing I can eat

Far from it :)

A toastie for business class. Was nice, but feels rather cheap as the only hot option for a MEL-SYD flight especially when this was a paid discount J fare and I was nearly the first to be served so it wasn’t like they’d run out of anything.

I had lasagne on my flight to NZ. Would like it for the way back too but somehow I doubt they’ll offer it for an early morning flight.

QF1562 LST-SYD 13JUN
No catering loaded.
I think the LST outbound catering should have been loaded in SYD or MEL on the inbound. So they ( QF Operations or whoever ‘organises’ the catering) would have known there was no catering for you. But did they inform anyone? By the sound of it, no - have a glass of water.

What's coast to coast breakfast looking like nowadays? I'm flying SYD-PER this week 8.25am departure. Am I better off getting brekky in the J lounge?
