Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF1730 MEL-BNE

717 Service
water PDB offered
(no juice even though this is a brekky flight hmm)
options were a museli or mushroom omlette. I passed on both thus no images.

Return QF mainline 1055 QF617. Soup (Moroccan) or a vegetarian curry something with rice. The soup was tasty. I was surprised there was no toasted sanga option.

Wine was a rather delightful Chardonnay. CSM said it was new. I'm not usually a Chardy boy, but this was actually very nice and just glad to not see any S+S!

Service was pretty good. oh also had pre-meal drink too.

SYD- SFO QF73. I couldn't request an upgrade as original ticket "sale" class purchases by employer :0/ However CSM looked after me...couldn't believe I was served a J class meal with wine in economy. P1 sure has its benefits.

QF776 PER-MEL 9-Mar

No PBD offered - which I took to be a bad omen of the service to come. Couldn't have been further from the truth.

Fotr pre-meal drinks I fancied a red and of the two reds on offer the Woodlands Wylabrup Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2015 seemed the be the more popular so I took my cue from others - and was pleased I did, stayed with it throughout the flight and was continually topped up.

The Biriyani wasn't ... with meat and rice obviously cooked separately. The raita was tastier than the disgusting colour. The pumpkin was strategically placed under the chicken ... wierd (but cheap!) addition.

Seem to reinvent this crumbed pork chop by differing the accompaniments. Quite nice to be honest.

I enjoyed it all but the ice cream was super small to the point of being rediculas. The soft cheese was really good, the Chardonnay was a ‘14 Dandelion, and the Cab Merlot was Woodlands

I got this menu on a January 2018 flight... I hated the menu as a whole, although mains was ok. I hope they get rid of this menu...

D34C846F-D742-40C4-99CF-4B9F3C3AB724.jpeg SYD-BNE today, 6th April: Mid afternoon departure so was meant to be a “refreshment” flight. Choice of water or water after boarding and I selected water. Once in the air, I was positively surprised to get a choice of a hot meal (Asian style pork belly), a potato and leek soup (which sounded yummie enough) and, strangely, a cheese plate (who just munches on a cheese plate without a main first?). Of course had the proper meal, the pork belly. Came with the usual unnecessay carbs (rice) and far too much Asian greens which I wouldn’t touch if my life depended on it, yikes. Picked out the tiny portion of meet which was excellent in taste so no complaints. Also served a very tasty warm bread with lots of grains in it and a wedge of lime on top of the main which was a nice feature (and went excellent with th barbecue soy glaze of the pork!). Had “necessary” carbs in the shape of a nice Pinot Noir at the side. Pretty good for a 1 hour afternoon flight, I’d say!

On a recent SYD-MEL flight in J I was impressed with accompanying Koko Black chocolate square that came with my meal (Char Sui Pork with Fried Rice)...quite a good size and easily the best tasting chocolate around.
