Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF621 BNE/MEL Sun 18/2 12:55pm

Seated in 2A and we were offered still or sparkling water before take-off

Two choices for lunch - either Thai Green chicken curry OR pumpkin soup.

As I’d had pumpkin soup in the Business Lounge, chose the curry. Mild heat and went well with the Merlot (Dandelion was the white). Would have rather had dark choc bar, only ate 4 pieces.

Nice service but nothing outstanding

The salad was the standard fare - but no vinigaret this time so just dry leaves.
No IFE or Q-Streaming for the entire flight. 1h 15 minutes after takeoff to get a glass of water and a glass of wine - I guess that’s only 15 minutes more than usual.....
Ah just imagine the joy of 17 hr+ flights on these wonderful 787s! Obviously Alan is correct there needs to be a tax cut for business such as QF so they can afford food for customers.

QF798 BNE-CNS 19/2 7:10am departure

Offered apple juice or water pre departure
Choices or non toasted museli or poached eggs with smoked salmon and kale.

Eggs got overcooked in the oven, unless they were intended to be hard inside!

The dressing is there. But even though I have zero expectations of these 'salads' that looks a particularly disgraceful serve.

Even worse though are the chopped salads that are small or 'dinner' serves on some of the shorter routes (as some of us have posted upthread). These really feel like the offcut salad leftovers from the day before.

QF and NP should actually be ashamed to have these as business class offerings in their names.

Sadly, they clearly aren't.

Had the egg white omelette which was surprisingly good - low(er) calories also which was a bonus as have a decent dinner at Moo Moo planned tonight. Washed down with the passable GB sparkling - something which at least gives a faint hint of imitating Champagne, unlike the Drives dishwater they have served in the J lounge for what must be the last 3 years.

First flight with functional WiFi, and against all expectations was very good - no dropouts and a workable speed - was even able to stream a movie. The new flight view feature very nice also. Major kudos to QF on this addition.

Main of lamb exceeded expectations , medium by medium well with some decent cuts - hopefully this is a sign of things to come in J this year.

Washed down with a Woodlands Margaret River cab merlot - certainly not Cullen’s or Moss Wood, but very drinkable nonetheless.

Maggie”s ice cream for dessert with a nice Glenrowan muscat.
