Qantas Club benefits on domestic AA flights

Hi there,
I am flying from LAS (vegas) to LAX with American Airlines, and I've just noticed on my ticket that checked luggage will be charged at $25/bag.
Does anyone know if being a Qantas Club member will get me any pull here?
I found no reference to the Qantas Club and baggage on their website.
Any insite would be appreciated and any other helpful tips for this brief journey.

No extra baggage allowance for QP traveling on AA.

Definitely no extra luggage allowance. Normally need a QF flight number for this.

$25 per bag is cheap in the US for a bag. I've seen charges exceeding $100 for a bag on cheap tickets.

Have you considered driving? It's about a 4.5 hour trip. Very good roads. Car hire is often around $50 per day including insurance.

OneWorld ruby status and above (qantas silver and higher) get free bag(s) on AA flights. Handy benefit.

I know it hurts, but you just have to suck it up. If there is an option to pre-purchase on line, do so. Saves mucking around at the airport. Alternatively, you may be offered an upgrade during the on line check in process. This should be about USD50 for the LAS-LAX flight, and would include the free bags. So I'd wait until you do the on line check in before paying for a bag.
