So I redeemed a gift voucher to make a booking.

Everything went as normal.
When I log in, I can see the booking, and it all looks fine.

BUT, when I went to check my credit card statement today, the money for the flight hasn't come off the card, even though I distinctly remember entering card details in the booking process.

Also, I don't seem to have received via email an itinerary.

What should I do?

Your booking is likely in a manual queue for ticketing. As it hasn't ticketed you haven't paid. If you're in no hurry to pay, just leave it and they'll get to it. Otherwise you can contact QF and they should expedite it.

Bookings can take a few days to come through, sounds like booking has been made but hasn't been ticketed,

You can just ring them and they will tell you it hasn't be ticketed, just keep a copy of the booking reference.

Last year I had one that took about 2 weeks to ticket and charge the credit card.

Gift Voucher Booking nonsense ....and keep reading onwards :)

FIXED - the reason it hadn't ticketed is because they didn't have my full name and DOB.
I can only assume the reason this happened is because I wasn't logged in when I redeemed the GV.
If I had have been, that info should have ported over. Presumably I could have added that in the APIS info myself.
The QF rep added the info in, and the booking has now ticketed.

Just to add a data point for fellow AFF'ers, I had a not-dissimilar experience last year - I was logged on and made a Qantas booking for 7 pax from MEL-CNS. It appeared straight away on my QFF login, PNR, manageable and all, however nothing off my credit card. I called and the QF agent said it was only temporarily being held and would drop off within 24 hours as it wasn't paid. I can't remember the reason, just didn't process at QF's end I think. I had to rebook it a second time, whilst the agent was on the phone (just in case) and it went through. If I hadn't checked my CC, I would have assumed the flight was booked and had a rude shock the next day. Now I always check my CC and for the ticket to land in my email box.

Assuming that it was a QF only booking, that's not true. It can stay held all the way up to the day of departure. I've had one that required a phone call to QF the day before as we couldn't olci.

I've had one sorted out at the airport. The booking appeared normal except that no charge had been made to my card, I couldn't check-in online, and I suspect (but didn't check) it hadn't been ticketed. The check-in agent had to call someone over, then make a call to somewhere, but it got fixed in a few minutes, during which time my card was finally charged, and everything was ok.
The booking had been made months earlier, using a gift voucher. There seemed to be a period last year where they were reliably not getting ticketed unless I intervened. Perhaps it was the batch of gift vouchers I'd purchased.

I used a GV to do an international booking last night. It was ticketed within minutes.

It was a QF only booking, good to know that in theory it can stay held. However the agent was very assertive in saying that the booking was going to drop off the next day and I had to re-book. She said she couldn't even take my CC over the phone and 'enable the booking'. Take home point is that QF - consistently inconsistent!
