This is a great card to start off if you want to start earning Qantas points without worrying about Annual Fee.

If you don't want to pay annual fee, the Qantas Discovery Amex is for you, with bonus 15000 points with no annual fee. Plus you would get:

- 2,500 extra Qantas Points after your first Card spend in Australia on selected Qantas products and services

However, if you want BIG Qantas point bonuses and don't mind paying some annual fee, then you should consider Qantas Ultimate American Express Card, as per link HERE.

This offer has been extended to 31 May 2016.

Echoing the sentiments of the knowledgeable members upthread, this card is a no-brainer with $0 annual fee, (up to) 15,000 QFF point sign-on bonus and access to Amex offers (including Shop Small).

One thing that I would like add to the above is the ability to earn 2 points per dollar for spending on selected Qantas products and services in Australia (Qantas passenger flights with a QF flight number purchased on the Qantas merchant account i.e. with Qantas direct and Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Club membership joining and annual fees. Excludes Jetstar, Qantas Holidays, and Qantas branded non-airfare products. Subject to the Qantas American Express Card Points Terms and Conditions.), which can help accelerate your points earn.

With that in mind, here is my referral link

It is unclear whether the extra-nice referral offer applies to this card (which means referees get up to 45k bonus points per applicant until August 18), but it may, so I'd love to throw my referral link into the ring for this card once more.

Sign up bonus is currently 15,000 points - enough for a number of qantas economy one way flights, such as Perth to Broome. For the grand sum of $0 annual fee!

Please consider using my referral link, scroll down, and click on the blue card in the bottom left of the screen. Thank you for supporting Mr & Mrs Excel's next holiday.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
