Hi Everyone,

I recently flew NRT-SYD with the family and whilst there is no F on this route, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to the F cabin since for some reason, the plane we were on had one (luck of the draw apparently).

Having not flown internationally very much, and certainly not in J or F, can someone please explain the difference between J and F on a 747 in terms of seating and comfort, as my impression was that J also had lie flat beds?

Thanks.

If the aircraft has an F cabin, it has not had the refurb that sees the Skybeds go from sloping to horizontal.

Pardon my ignorance, but are you saying if there is an F cabin, the Skybeds in J are the Mk I ones which don't fully recline to horizontal? Just checking for future reference re bookings. Are there many of these still left?

Bump.

I've also scored one of these seats on QF5 in a few days. My long reserved 5B Skybed MkII vanished and I was lucky enough to snaffle 2K. Do these old first seats have any power outlets?

Yes they do, they are very recessed though so an Apple plug won't fit in them.
