Booked 2x 1st one way SYD/PVG with QFF points on new MU A350 for August, the Qantas booking engine says 1st but in fact the seats are what MU call "Premium" Business. so as the tickets were sold as 1st does this mean entry to Qantas 1st lounge?.

Im not sure as Qantas sold them to me as 1st, it was later I found it was called by MU premium business.

Excuse me if Im wrong, but isnt MU - China Eastern, and not Malaysian which is MH?

Correct MU is China Eastern now in bed with Qantas as an affiliate, MH I think is not..

MH is in Oneworld.

But in terms of answering your China Eastern question im sorry I cant be of any help. Just wanted to point out not to go by the article linked upthread to MH

Just confirmed with Qantas we can access the 1st Lounge in Sydney, kept printout of chat conversation just in case, not been in there for a while since my fall from Plat few years back

It should be but keep in mind its same a J on this new MU A350 but longer cabin that can seat 4 in middle seats, the additional 1st service who knows, time will tell. Good article on ABT here.

The have the same seating on the 787 from MEL which started service on Feb 1.
I was hoping one of our intrepid AFF members would have already done a TR by now

Yes I just had a gander at the ABT link to that.
I’ve seen a report online that was SIN-PVG on their 787 and it wasn’t too complimentary on their food but the seats looked nice enough. The TV’s looked huge in the F seats but apart from that there didn’t appear to be a lot of difference between the F and J suites.

Booked those 2 middle 1st (Premium seats) as no J award seats were available for our dates to catch the ship, so will have to fill up in SYD Q1st lounge before departure!

Felt I had to ask about the 1st class WU A350 middle seats SYD/PVG as they had odd numbers D1 & H1, spent 40 minutes on Qantas chat and a few emails to China Eastern, the latter has confirmed it is correct. Still looking for their new A350 seat map.

I've flown on MU's A350 J seats twice SYD to PVG and return. I quite liked it - hard product basically can't be faulted assuming you're a fan of 1-2-1 herringbone (very new seats); food could be better but I liked it a lot more than I thought I would, and the staff were really good to me - providing water without prompting, every now and then coming by and asking if I needed anything etc.

Disclaimer: it does help that I look and can speak Chinese, though not sure if that had anything to do with the affable service.

We are a couple so reason we took middle seats.

Wife doesn't eat seafood but what was the food like?

On Expedia the seat map shows 1A 1D,1H and 1L, with D,H being the middle pair.

Looked at all the seat sites but not on booking portal so well done.

I was hoping for a free limo from PVG to city hotel from China Eastern from our 1st class booking but as a code share with Qantas I think not?.
