Purple Plastic bag luggage tags - Virgin

OK, It is now driving me nuts. Does anyone know what the purple bag tags are that Virgin issue.
I am not talking about the ones at baggage check in for priority, I am referring to the credit card size tags normally issued to silver, gold or plat guests.

I currently have a gold card attached to my carry on bag, and I see others with silver, and I see a black/platinum tag also from time to time. Recently though I have seen purple tags (hard plastic attached to carry on bags).

I will ask the next person I see with one - (and mind you this could also be a QANTAS tag that I am not familiar with) - in the meantime though, I thought I would ask the knowledgeable and wise AFF community for their thoughts.

Platinum tags are purple on the reverse side.

Indeed. Blackish one one side purple on the other. Same with the plat membership card.

I like my purple bag tags, and always flip them over purple side up.

I think that they’re great because all the people who need to know what they are - do (i.e. the airline’s staff) and all the people who don’t need to know - well don’t (except if like the OP they are observant and interested).

Its not ostentatiously platinum, gold, silver, titanium… it’s just purple.

On the Virgin SYD T2 pier the other day, I was standing on the opposite side of the corridor to my departure gate, death staring at it and mentally trying to convince it to start boarding. Two patrolling police officers walk past, and they glimpsed at my purple tag. On their way back down from the pier they looked again, and one of them pointed out, to the other, that all the priority signs at the gates were the same purple, so their topic of conversation must have been the similar to the OP’s line of though.


Best of all, for those WPs who prefer to be platinum platinum (as opposed to purple platinum) they can just flip ‘em over, and presto the colour matches the title.

I actually flip my gold one over, and it is still gold - I flip mine over though because I really don't like my name showing to the world. I liked the old QF one I had years ago that was actually two cards together and my name was on the inside ( IIRC I had to write my own details on the inside)
