Hi Is it possible to purchase QFF points? Wanting to request upgrades for my partners 50th birthday trip to USA.

I know that Qantas does allow family transfers which I have done in the past with non family members as my cousins.
With Qantas cracking down on these family transfers, I am not wanting to risk losing my money and the points I have purchased.

Any suggestions?

Thinking if I could find someone with the same surname as me or my partner who is wanting to 'transfer' them to me for a fee then this could be a potential option.

Hope I am not breaking any rules of posting.
Thanks

You can get around the cousin rule by having your cousin transfer to say their parents, across to your parents then down to you. The transfer are instantaneous and as each of your leg is a legitimate transfer then there is nothing wrong with this transfer. P.S first cousins are allowed under the family transfer, so the above would be for second cousins. Another option if you have an amex platinum card is to buy points at 2.5 cents each and transfer to qff, but there is an annual cap. They are cracking down on family transfer so I wouldn't risk transferring from someone not eligible and certainly wouldn't be buying points illegally.

The only option to buy points is via top up points. Personal deals for fees is a breech of the qantas terms and conditions and risks voiding your account.

Thank you I certainly dont want to break the rules and have my account voided.

Thanks for the hint re the amex platinum card.

Yes start with credit card sign ups if you are eligible. If you have to buy points only buy the minimum you need to get the deal done as buying points is not suitable for economy travel. Use them for premium travel and upgrades.
I have two upgrades pending and if the upgrade fairy comes through it will prove to be excellent value.

It would help if you advise just how many points you need. Then you will get some quite specific suggestions about how to get them the cheapest way possible.

Yes. Can't post the link as I am under 10 posts. But it's possible, search Qantas website.

Looking to get approx 100,000 points each. to use for upgrade Sydney to DFW and to keep some up our sleeve for emergency family trips SYD to ADE. Have had to make a couple due to illness of my parents.

You can only purchase points from Qantas if you are booking an award and then can only purchase a small percentage of the points required for award.

Credit card signon bonuses are the best way to get huge amount of points quickly.

Do you like wine? Qantas Epiqure:

https://www.qantasepiqure.com.au/

Receive the points instantly, bonuses up to 10,000 points per case - currently best offers are around 8000 points. When I was short 76000 points (had 3 J seats paid for, needed 1 more) I bought a lot of wine :) Still a lot cheaper than the J cash price, and I got to drink the wine.... bonus offers here:

Yes, I agree with greenfish's idea about benefiting from epiquire bonuses rather than buying top up points with an immediate booking
