The website has the April specials showing up now. Lots of 2 for 1 and keep certificate offers out, which is great. Some offers can be booked now but some can't (I tried two and one worked and one didn't).

First time there has been no QLD hotels on the list! Its good to see the BOGO offers being so common for a change.

Been doing a few bookings for April and I can now confirm that there are QLD hotels on the specials if not mentioned, CP Surfers and HI CNS and Surfers are BOGO - handy for Easter.

Odd they would not put this is the newsletter? The offers seem to be weak compared with previous months. Is this because April is full of holidays and school holidays?

And does the CP at Pelican Waters take part in these offers and dining discounts etc, I am due to stay there in July for my wife's birthday.

Also in your travels do they let you do multiple nights on a BOGO, I see that IC Fiji has BOGO no cert all this month for bookings made until end of June. I was looking at 8 nights all up of a BOGO basis.

Probably best to phone the hotel directly and check. I noticed when I did my bookings recently (not to Fiji though) they specified (in the online rate description) it was a maximum of 4 consecutive nights.

Having stayed at the IC Fiji in January, I'm not sure I'd want to spend eight nights there anyway (I only had two and wished I had one or two more). Probably far better off keeping it to four and having four somewhere else like one of the little island resorts.

When I was booking my 4 night Adelaide trip for next week, I phoned the CP and checked to see if I could stay 4 nights with the one BOGO since they didn't need to collect it. They said that wouldn't work and I'd need both BOGOs. Fortunately it worked out in this months offer that the Adelaide IC has a BOGO offer, so now I'll have two CP nights and then two IC nights.

I had a nice night at the CP last year and they gave me an upgrade to a Deluxe room (presumably because they had opened only a few months before), so it'll be interesting to compare the two.

Some of the hotel specials have been missing from the last few, I suspect they get asked what they will offer and dont reply by the deadline but still put it in the reservation system. CP Pelican Waters is a franchise (only one in Aus AFAIK) and rarely participates in specials, they are usually cheap enough anyway as long as there is no conferences on .

Yes, just do separate bookings, if you are using the "get 1000 points per stay for 90 days" bonus codes it actually makes sense to do it that way especially as outside Australia the IC earn is so poor being per stay based. 8 nights at an IC would make joining the IC Ambassador program worthwhile for the 30K of points, and you could then also go for the ambassador accelerator which is 20000 points for every 15 nights of IC stays with no date limits.

Great thanks for that advice markis, although I think my wife has put this trip on hold, so it may be Hervey Bay Peppers rather than Golf at the IC in Fiji !!!!

My wife got the free years upgrade to Plat status, so she really needs to use this on a trip to the IC Fiji :)

Verde how was the IC in Fiji ? Did they look after you, the club area looks very very nice, I need to work on my wife even if its only for a 6 night stay ....

I quite enjoyed it.

The activities roster could be a bit more substantial, though I only actually did one of them.

I didn't book a club room, just got a one level Amb upgrade (to lagoon view). The room was very nice though and I'd rather have walked out on to the grass with the view of the lagoon rather than the beach area where there were more people hanging about.

A few of the staff were trying a bit too hard to be helpful at the restaurants, if anything.

Over breakfast/lunch I heard one of the couples staying there making comments about how far back from the beach/pools etc the club complex is. They would either drive you down in little golf cart like vehicles (or perhaps you could borrow them too) or walk. I didn't think it looked too far, but I guess if I was unfit or in my sixties it might be an issue, or if I was doing it several times a day it might be annoying.

I did have issues booking the room though. I'd wanted to use a PP BOGO, even more so when it came up with a keep your certificate listing, but couldn't do it online (I even ended up trying each month for the rest of the year as a PP BOGO booking without luck). I ended up phoning the PP number and they couldn't do it within a week or two either direction of my stay (I didn't bother trying to get them dates further out than that since my dates were fixed anyway, but I was curious to see if I was just unlucky or if it just seemed to be listed with no rooms actually available - which seemed to be the case), yet my Ambassador BOGO worked without any trouble at all.

But it all looks very nice and the water was lovely. If you are a keen golfer you'll probably be right for six days, but since I'm not, I felt anything beyond four would have started to become overkill.
