Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney

Wonder if that means they think they'll never get airport space for a lounge. Good interim move though.

priority Pass don't operate their own lounges, so it is what they can negotiate. Presumably, they can't come to an agreement with Plaza Premium in Sydney, so this is the next best thing I guess.

True I shouldn't have said lounge. I didn't realize plaza premium were involved with the Amex and sky team lounges. Ah well there look to be some nice places for bites at SYD so something is better than nothing.

Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney

Great if you have a full tilt Amex Platinum Charge Card but in my circumstance - Citibank Signature Visa which grants 2 accesses a year then pay after - once i have used up my 2 freebies i would paying 27$ USD (36 AUD) which is of no benefit (plus I would need to ensure I actually used up the amount). Some 'cards' have all the fun!

Although ..i guess if you are close to your annual renewal and you have unused visits it is worth blowing them on this.

Well, I think this is a great move and way better than Qantas Club, for instance (my friend guested me in a couple of times)
$72 to spend in a restaurant while waiting for a flight goes a long way.
Certainly better than a saucer of pasta salad, soup, "homebrand" liquorice all-sorts and a barista coffee.
At lunchtime, I want a lunch!
This deal certainly seems like it offers that.
Well done Priority Pass

Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney

Just to confirm, if I have the complimentary passes that come with the Citibank card, I can use them in SYD as described. Might make me choose Rex from SYD T3 at least twice.

Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney

This is great. The QP food is pretty dire if you're actually seriously hungry. Having access to this to grab something first will be brilliant.

Agree. Hopefully SYD is just the first Australian airport with more to come.

Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney

This is actually a wonderful workaround for Priority Pass. I actually think they should do it at all Australian airports! It is better to just get $36 off eating actual proper food, rather than the usual sandwich style food at QP or Virgin Lounge.

Now I do have VA Lounge access but I think I will try those restaurants next time as I have free 2 PP Invites from Citibank.

Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney

I like this a lot. But wouldn't be surprised (or too upset) if they brought in a "max one use per port per day" rule.

There's some chance. For the most part it is one operator, and thay have operations at other airports. (https://www.airportretail.com.au/locations)

Meanwhile, this deluded individual thinks someone is going to stump up $50 per pass!!?
I know what I'd do with my hundred bucks

Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney

Maybe somebody who hasn't been in the lounge might think it's worth it. Or they might want to impress somebody by taking them into a lounge.

Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney
