Hi scruffy, welcome to AFF!

If you're travelling together you won't have a problem checking in together.

If you're travelling together she can use the same queue as you.

Edit: That's strange. I'm sure TV's response wasn't there when I responded, but clearly was.

Yes, welcome aboard. Feel free to ask any questions - we were all once clueless in some area of travel or another, and the beauty of this site is that there's always someone around who knows the answer. Often several, with conflicting advice...

I'm usually gold or platinum while my wife isn't. We go through check-in and boarding together and nobody's ever said a word. If the process ever got that mean and tight, I might start choosing a different airline.

I would also like to welcome you, but also remind you that there is no need to double post a question in multiple areas of the forum.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I think this question got posted twice and the threads merged.

Well this "Rabble" went straight to the front last week. Upon arrival at Adelaide airport I went to line up at the International Connection line. I do not have any Qantas status (MVP Gold 75K Alaska) so I cannot use the "Priority Lane." There were 9 people lined up at the Priority lane and only one person in the "Rabble" lane. Within minutes I was checked in. I smiled at the priority passengers as they stayed in their priority lane like well trained sheep.

Clearly too many "Elites" in Adelaide for the morning commute flights to Sydney and Melbourne.

While bemusing, it simply wouldn't have worked with any airline that does priority check-in properly (same applies for priority boarding).

With QF it's generally sensible to just go for whichever queue is shortest.

The international connection line at ADL is usually longer than the priority line, in the mornings at least. I'll certainly use the shorter unless it has pax with many suitcases.
