Exclusive Clubcard Offer
Be instore at Priceline or Priceline pharmac_ on 19 or 20 December 2009, spend $50 or more** and you can claim a complimentary stay for as many nights as you wish at participating hotels across Australia, choose from 100 venues!

There will be a list of participating hotels available for you to view here on 12 December 2009.

Certainly sounds interesting to me! From the terms and conditions it seems like you must pay for breakfast and dinner at the hotel each night for it to be free. But, let's see if there are some decent places to travel to in two days time, eh? More info here: Pricline Great Escape

My fiance is a mad Priceline shopper so I'm interested to see how good (hopefully) of a deal this is.

Seems u need to pay breakfast or dinner each night, not so bad.

Time to read the fine print.

I guess the key is the list of participating hotels....not expecting to see Hilton, Hyatt etc to appear:shock:

You need to spend a minimum amount on food at breakfast or dinner, if breakfast does not hit the min dinner is required.

Without seeing the fine print (ie the list of hotels and min spend), it sound like it has too many conditions attached.

If it seems to good to be true...........
I remember 15 years ago when we bought our last TV from hardly normal we had spent enough to qualify for one of these offers(our old TV had literally blown up so we were making this purchase any way).We were going to Florida and there were several hotels in Orlando and Miami on their list.Problem was we could book them for cheaper than the minumum daily spend and that was through a TA.
So definitely read all the fine print.

Could be a good idea for Oz Fest, perhaps.

Also it’s based on twin share, so you’d need a second person to spend with you.

What happens if breakfast and dinner doesn’t meet the min spend? :p

The way that my wife spends at Priceline she would have to be one of the owners!!

The MDE will be applied by the accommodation provider toward the cost of each guest enjoying a dinner and/or breakfast for each night stayed at the relevant provider. The MDE excludes the costs of alcohol and the cost of lunch.

So that means that dinner and breakfast will be included in the MDE, but isn't restricted to? The first time I read it I thought it meant that the MDE will be the same cost as it would for two people to buy breakfast + dinner each day they stayed. Boring if it's not!

If it ends up being like what drron's experience was then it'll make me sad. Still, if there are some good hotels on there on the 12th then it might be worth buying some presents anyway.

Hmm, spend $50, of which priceline might make $30 margin at best, then expect to save big $$$$, dont think so, interesting feedback on similar schemes from the same marketing company:

Actually just google TLC marketing-1180000 hits for complaints and 61300 hits for scam.Dont get your hopes up.:(

And this is where they get you. I was offered a similar deal a few years ago and the condition was for 2 people to purchase breakfast (around $25 person) and dinner (around $50 per person not including drinks) at the hotel which came out to ~$150 a night. I could definitely get that type of accommodation much cheaper in those days and I would have had heaps of change left over for breakfast and dinner.

And a total waste of time for a single person as you would still have to pay the minimum for 2 people....

A really excellent post by markis10 above (Post #10). Take the trouble to follow his link and read a page or two of the experiences of such a scheme when offered by the same marketing company, TLC. It's enough to make you weep. Priceline must be very naive to get involved with such a gang. Conclusion: Don't be in the least tempted by Priceline's offer.
