Hi Guys,

I have been refraining from posting on this forum for quite some time but I do still read. I have decided to post today as I think some of you may appreciate this?

I happened to be on a flight from Sydney to Melbourne recently on the Virgin Australia Airbus A330-200. This flight was trialing the new short haul domestic business class product to be implemented in January. I have written a full review with picture on my blog which gives a good idea of what is to come. They have certain areas they need to improve on which I passed on to the Virgin staff on board who had joined us for the flight seeking feedback.

You may view the report on my Aussie Flyer blog here: Aussie Flyer: EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW - Virgin Australia Short Haul Business, Sydney to Melbourne on the A330-200

Feel free to discuss here... hope you enjoy it.

I hope the Virgin rep might read it and pass it on to the powers that be as well.

cheers

Thanks for the review dazz81 - definitely keen on trying out their J product soon. I've been a bit quiet too - but have recently had some surprisingly great experiences on VA (last two flights with row 3 to myself despite using Fly Ahead, to name but one) which I think are worth commending as well.

Yeah I plan to make use of those 4 upgrades on some trans-cons during the year. I did find the J seat in the A330 a bit narrow, although I am fairly solid build but you wouldn't want to be any bigger.

Nice report dazz81. :D

Those seats do look somewhat narrow indeed. I have used the new seats on their 737's between SYD & MEL; would they be wider or narrower?

Also, how is the bulkhead space in row one; would it enable one to stretch out?

I have not yet sampled the new seats on the 737 to compare.

Bulkhead space is ample in row 1 on the A330 for you to stretch out completely. No issues there.

Thank you for that - I am will be travelling PER-SYD next month and am considering either the 11:30am departure or the 11pm red-eye.

I bit the bullet and went for the 11:30am flight - they were both "4 hour" flights so not really useful for sleep.
