I was just wondering what happens if you but a premium economy ticket and the flight is code share on Ethihad. As far as I can tell from their website, they don't offer Premium economy.

I have asked Virgin this question before, but I was enquiring about Perth - London or Dublin. They said it would be Economy from Perth - Sydney, Premium Economy from Sydney - Abu Dhabi and then Economy from Abu Dhabi onwards with Etihad.

It's a bit of a crock really unless Virgin fly VA metal to your final destination.

Bit of a crock.....it is a crock.

From the EY end, it would appear to me that F Class EY travellers would have to settle for J on EY codeshare with VA metal, and PE class on DJ.

Makes me wonder if one of the 2012 enhancements for VA is the introduction of F. This would put it in line with EY, NZ and likely contenders for their Asian alliance partner(s).

NZ offers F?

I suspect that having a J offering will be the point we get to. Then at least someone can book a J fare via EY, NZ or VA/DJ.

People booking F and ending up on J on some legs (e.g. shorter regional/domestic) is pretty much standard world-wide now.
