We are contemplating 4 or 5 nts in Prague June 2016 - any good AFF folk have experiences and recommendations for hotels? 5 star and in old town preferably - preliminary thoughts are Hotel Paris Prague or similar - would appreciate all and any info.

We stayed at the Questenberk earlier this year and would thoroughly recommend it. Lovely room, lovely food, excellent and very personal service, and at what I thought were quite reasonable prices. It's only 4 stars, but have a look at Questenberk Prague | 4 star boutique hotel near Prague Castle and see what you think. Whilst not in the old town, it didn't take me that long to walk down the hill to it. (The walk back up the hill took me a little longer though. :D) If walking uphill isn't your thing, there's convenient public transport.

The hotel manager has given me two special discount links; one for returning customers, and another for friends and family. We're all friends here on AFF, so PM me if you want the link.

Can I throw an alternative option. Last month stayed in The Golden Well hotel located just below Prague Castle, with their own entrance into the castle grounds.Large rooms, very helpful staff and a killer view over the city for breakfast or an afternoon/sunset drink overlooking the city.Away from the yobs and noise in the old town but very walkable. Also if you have 4 hrs to kill really recommend EatingPraguetour.s.com ,great way to graze your way around Prague. This co also ops in Rome, informative and I think great value.hope that helps

I was in Hilton Old Town. If you are just after a hotel with a great location then this is it. Never used the exec lounge and can't remember what the gym was like. Got a decent suite upgrade though.

We stayed in the Hilton Old Town and the Executive Lounge there is pretty ordinary. We had booked through Hotwire as a mystery hotel but we knew from betterbidding that we would end up with this Hilton. Surprisingly though, they honored my then Diamond Status and provided free internet and lounge access :) Location is adjacent to the start of the old town but the hotel is nothing to write home about.

I would recommend the Boscolo Prague (Autograph Collection). A very stylish luxury 5 star hotel in a beautiful old Prague building.
It is on the edge of the old town, very close to Hlavní Nádraží, the main train station, and Námĕstí Republiky. It's also convenient for the metro and trams.
Very nice rooms and beautiful suites.
