This seems too small a thing to warrant its own thread, but I wanted to report on a positive experience with Qantas. I am booking a lot of flights to and from Queensland at the moment for work travel (admittedly many not with Qantas) and due to not checking closely enough I booked a BNE-MEL flight with Qantas on the wrong Friday (one week out). I remembered something about a grace period for customer booking errors, so I called up as a Bronze member and gave it a shot. Result - successful change and a good experience. :)

+ Australian based customer service agent was knowledgeable and helpful
+ Qantas customer-friendly policy for correcting booking mistakes by customers (no change fee within 24 hrs)

Have also done this a few minutes after booking. Was told it depends it the ticket has been issued or is still in the que

The call centre (and in particular the Premium Desk) is one of the major benefits of QF.
The difference between them and VA (esp Manila) is night and day. I have even had them call me back when in the US and UK when my Skype call dropped out.
I sincerely hope the call centre is not part of the cost cutting plans.

I have booked the wrong dates several times and not noticed until I received my itineraries. Never had a problem getting it fixed after the tickets had been issued. Usually within a couple of hours. Not sure how you would go days later

The rule is you can change it even if the ticket has been issued, providing it is before midnight on the day you book. If it hasn't been ticketed it is simply removed from the queue, changed and sent back to the queue for ticketing. If it has been ticketed, then the ticket is voided, the changes made and then sent to the queue for ticketing again.

Basically, don't book your tickets in the evening!
