I am curious since the PM announced an early return from holiday but a quick search showed there was almost zero availability on any flights back from HNL to SYD.
My suspicion is he will simply fly back on the flight he was always booked on.
However he may use his influence to secure a seat.
So I would be interested to hear if anyone is returning from HNL this weekend and if anyone hears any stories about PAX being bumped or asked to change flights.

Or, the airline may pro actively obtain a seat for him, without asking, as happens with Chairman's Club members ( if he's flying QF) as many of us have suffered in the past!). Or he may fly into a port other than Sydney.

I didn't mean to distinguish between the two.
I am only interested in determining whether the whole "returning early" thing is a blatant lie.
And I did look at routes with connections.

I don’t think its a sham. His wife and children are staying in Hawaii.

Fair enough. In the absence of someone saying 'we were bumped for ScoMo', do we conclude it's a lie?

Anyway, with the PM back on deck one way or another it's good to know that the fire emergency will be brought under control.

It’s interesting. Out State Premier is taking the perceived error of Sco Mo being absent, by being the one holding the press conferences about the SA Fires. It does actually make for a good leadership action. Yes, we have had fires here in the last couple of days and two lives lost and several in hospital with severe burns. Many properties lost. Do the Eastern States even hear about this?

Pushka some Eastern Staters have been keeping a close check on these tragic circumstances even when they have been in China - the Australian fires have featured in every CNN news bulletin for last week

Well, the story is on the front page of the ABC website when look at it from W.A.

ALL of the fires have been on the ABC incl the KI fires and the rest of SA.

Australia yes but SA?

Maybe he'll join Albo and others in the mess tent and get to serve Tony on the front line....

Well, this is a slightly different message from a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps a sign that some humble pie is about to be eaten all round.
Nationals leader Michael McCormack says he accepts more action needed on climate change

A good start would be making it mandatory for all local authorities and Gov departments to start proper management of the land via controlled burning.

Once they do that - they can get to work on all these idiot arsonist that are starting the fires, and the other known reason why a fire starts.

I don't know if I'm lacking empathy or what, but if the people working under ScoMo are tasked with looking after the government while he's away, why does he need to come back? Isn't it analogous to your manager or boss going away on holidays and you are paid to look after the office?
