To all the newly-minted Platinum One frequent flyers out there... I'm curious to hear... what's been your experience so far?

Anything different?

Free upgrades?

... or all hype?

Nothing yet in NZ, but that is consistent with previous years (later delivery and differing wines/champagne).

Finally got email with notification of arrival in next few days (prob Tues) so that's good.

I am going to guess I will get the CdC. I'd prefer to try the Rare tbh but well beggars can't be choosers and whatever I get glad for the gift (probably my last) :)

Was supposed to arrive by now but hasn't.
Tracking link has the last update from Monday, as being still in Sydney.
Anyone else not receive theirs yet?

Aus Post is the new Sendle! 😂

The sad reality is that I was not the only one given the special Sendle Service :D
but I did seem to get it over a few years :)

Definitely NOT missed!

.....

Kangol, I only got my first email today from Hatcher for my delivery. Expect the plonk in the next few days. But as a data point, when I looked at the "tracking history" it has the order confirmation from QF two weeks ago - so it appears that the deliveries are spread over a bit due to the delivery guys rather than any heirachy from QF??

Edit: Just realised it is after midnight - so I actually got the Hatchet message yesterday :)

Reading this thread, I am feeling validated in my view that there is absolutely no tangible value remaining loyal to QF post LTG, or in spending to advance past WP, unless of course your status is entirely funded by your employer...

As someone who has only ever attained P1 through personal spend, I think I agree. P1 is great, even though it is so very expensive :)

But for these few days we all enjoy the arrivals of those little babies - the yearly champas :)

My suggestion to you for the New Year is to forget that oft spoken about concept of loyalty - it simply does not exist in the way we would like to understand it, in modern commercial enterprises.

Your only real loyalty should lie with your wallet and your happiness with a product...

got some 2002 Rare (L1 on the envelope, is that supposed to mean anything?), wasn't expecting it, I was wondering why Qantas wine was sending me something again :)

I won't requal as P1 any time soon I don't think, so this year so far has been good in terms of perks, main one being the 1st class upgrade LAX-MEL :)
The main thing will be to book some reward flights for next year/2021 before my status expire.

Received a text from Auspost to come and collect a package from Hatcher.

2002 Rare, L1 on envelope and inside of card, the only QF P1 branding on the packaging is the inside of outer box with "seasons greetings to our loyal P1 members"

I'm a first year P1 that has spent the first 8 months of my year toasting > 2.5 million QFFP, with > 3.5million in the bank still to burn. This will be the focus for the remaining 4 months of my P1.

Consequently, I won't be hitting P1 next year :)

Looks like the Rare 2002 are rolling out across the country to all P1’s. Merry Christmas all!
Question: Does anyone know how many P1’s there are in Australia? How many in each state?
Any Guesses?

Another with the Rare, and also the L1 on the paperwork. 4th year P1.

What literally "caught my eye" (and almost killed me) this year was the packaging!! Am amazed the poor Aus Post staff did not suffer any number of conditions, having to look at this psychedelic box!!!!!!!! :

This may explain why mine seems to be stuck sitting in Somerton since Saturday with no update or apparent movement since then.

Surely AP can't manage to out Sendle Sendle?!! No, I still have faith :D

Here's a thought I had the other day.

Would they ONLY send chrris gift to P1's who are current members this month (Dec 2019?) What if one's P1 ended November 30?

(not me, I end Aug next year so this is a general thought not personal at all).

I wonder, for example, if someone finished their P1 year end of Oct or November should they get a gift for being P1 for majority of the calendar year? I think it would be a nice thing to do, but could just as easily understand if they didn't.

Anyone know?
