Well us Aussies are used to the heat but Phoenix Arizona is currently so hot that flight have had to be cancelled -

It's so hot in Phoenix, Arizona that planes can't fly

How hot has it been? On Monday, temperatures in Phoenix hit 47.8 degrees Celsius....

Regional flights on American Eagle were the most affected, because they use Bombardier CRJ planes that can only operate at temperatures of 118 degrees Fahrenheit - or around 47.8 degrees Celsius - or below, Mr Feinstein said. Flights on larger Airbus and Boeing planes were not cancelled because they are able to operate at higher maximum temperatures: around 52.8 degrees Celsius for Airbus and 52.2 degrees Celsius for Boeing.

Too hot for my taste!

PHX is the only airport I've been too where the crew asked everybody to keep the window shades down on landing and takeoff!

They do that on the tour buses too. Start the day with the bus as cool as possible and by late afternoon it was over 30 degrees inside the bus with aircon full on. When we arrived at our hotel (one of the best of the tour) each room had its own external courtyard and jacuzzi - but they were too hot to get into. People were raiding the ice machines to cool them down. :)

Passed through Phoenix on Tuesday from Los Angeles on the way to Denver early afternoon.
Was the only award flight routing from BNE/LAX to DEN. Our flight from LA was
around 50 minutes late. Was sure we were going to miss our connection.
Got a lift to our departure gate. Flight was closed original seats were given up.
AA did a great job, put us on the flight and we made it out of there. Baggage
even made it on the flight. Lucky.

Pilot made an announcement that they were waiting on a part before departing,
wouldn't be too long. Male & Female across the aisle made a scene about the
delay and departed the aircraft, weirdos.
