Perth - Cairo on Emirates - do they ever offer specials in economy?

Has anyone ever seen any specials for economy class with Emirates flying Perth to Cairo? I've seen them offer specials to other North African and Middle Eastern cities, but can't seem to recall any specials for Cairo - I'm planning a trip to Egypt for June next year and Emirates has the most direct route and offers 30kg baggage allowance in economy.

Anything I need to be aware of when flying Emirates? Is their service ok etc? Losing bags would be a nightmare on this trip as our final destination is a long way from Cairo.

Asking if Emirates service is good, is like asking if Tiger's service is poor - it is taken as a given.
EK does have specials, but your flight is not for a few years so you could probably wait a bit longer for them to release.

If you absolutely must go to Egypt, (I'm assuming someone has a gun to your head), then maybe consider Singapore Airlines. They currently have June flights for $1650 return ex-Perth. It would be unlikely that you would find a better fare on EK.
MH would be my other choice (but it codeshares with EgyptAir on the KUL-CAI leg)

Well a few months anyway. I've just never seen a special from them for Perth - Cairo.

Well to dive the main body of the Red Sea the choices are from Egypt, the Sudan, Yemen or Saudi Arabia - it's a no-brainer really. Having said that I worked in Egypt for six years in the early 90's and loved the place so have no problems going back. Emirates is the only choice that I know of for this as I need the 30kg baggage allowance - I don't think that Singapore Air or Malaysian offer that and paying for 10kg of excess baggage would push it past the Emirates price I suspect. Happy to be corrected though.
