Hi All

I have recently made a multi-carrier USDM booking and was not at any stage asked for detailed passport info - I don't think it's stored in my USDM account. Last OS (paid) trip, I had to provide detailed passport info to Qantas. I called QR yesterday, who advised that they most certainly need my info, but I'm concerned that it should probably be captured by US as they issued the e-ticket.

Please forgive me as it's my first USDM booking - at what stage of the process do you give them detailed passenger info? Can't seem to find where to do it online, and as always, I'm scared that a call will result in my itinerary being questioned.

Sorry, a pretty silly omission on my part. Aus to usa via Qatar, returning via UK, Qatar, and Hkg.

You can log in to to QR with your PNR and add the details to your booking on their site - along with seat selections for your flights on QR.

Thanks, I have reserved all of my seats, though unfortunately I'm unable to make any modifications to the passenger details, various errors come up on the QR, CX and AY sites and the US site doesn't ask for passport info anywhere.

I'll risk calling US and ask them if they need the information.

Regards

Daniel

Isn't the requirement simply to have the passport information captured at check-in? If you have made a booking and don't OLCI, the airline is going to be none the wiser about your passport details until you show up.

In times when USDM asks for it, I give them a different passport to the one I use for entry to the US anyway (which i show at check-in).

If you are going to do pre-notification, I can't see why it would make a difference if US or QR captured it, other than it would be in the system for the return flights... although as per the above, I'm not sure what practical difference, if any, it makes.

Thanks. I'm just a ducks in a row sort of person and remember being asked at time of booking in the past so was paranoid about something going awry.

When I spoke to US this morning they weren't interested in the info at all but Qatar added it to the booking just now.

Good to hear you have it sorted with QR.
Now that the passport info is recorded you will also see your passport details appear on the back page of the QR booking.
It's actually a bit disconcerting to see your own passport name and number listed on your booking ref and I can't recall seeing it done this way with any other airline that I have flown on.
Does anyone on AFF have any ideas where else this occurs?
