I would appreciate recommendations for a hotel in or near 17th Arr or Clichy in Paris, please? Room for one, six nights in August. Should be near RER / train / metro lines as I'll be frequenting Palais de Congres (Porte Maillot). Primarily at the Holiday Inn / HI Express / Ibis class (60 - 80 e /night would be awesome). The quieter (noise-wise), the better. 😌
Other areas nearby are OK, too, but it seems that the price point & transport works quite OK in Clichy.

If that sort of hotel is your preference the Ibis Paris 17 Batignolles-Clichy would be preferable to the Ibs Clichy-Centre.
Quieter, near the Parc Clichy-Batignolles Martin Luther King,
The Ibis Clichy-Centre is right next to the Boulevard Périphérique - to be avoided at all costs.
If you're prepared to leave the chains behind there are numerous nice hotels in the 3-4 star range.
I would recommend near the metro arrêts of Malesherbes, Wagram or Monceau (Parc Monceau is beautiful but the area is a bit more expensive).
But if RER access is important stay near Porte de Clichy or perhaps over near Gare de Périere Levallois.
