We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 nights via booking.com. The apartment is about a 15 minute flat walk from the train station and the walk lets us have a basic look at the town of around 26,000. We are greeted in English & shown to our spacious, newish and well equipped apartment. The beds are very comfortable, a great shower, plenty of heating, sat tv, fast wifi, well equipped kitchen (fridge has no freezer) and generally plenty of room for us to relax & enjoy being within a max 15 minute walk to the major parts of town. The local accommodation providers have a scheme where you receive a card that gives you free access to the local buses & a variety of discounts to local attractions.
