Although on a SAA ticket codeshare on Virgin to Perth (economy). Left Adelaide at 5:30pm SAtime. SA excluded from full service provisions on trip to Perth. Over a 3 hour flight with just a very small “snack” at this time of day totally unacceptable – flight itself very comfortable and staff good. In-flight entertainment poor.

SAA Perth to Johannesburg (economy) – long flight going against the wind. Staff outstanding – food very good, service outstanding, comfort very good, conveniences cleaned regularly, entertainment system ok.
Rating: 9 out of 10 – highly recommended
SAA domestic Joburg to Lusakas – short flight – just over an hour – all good – much better than the Vigin experience
Rating: 8/10
Proflight domestic – turbo prop - one class – all good Rating 7.5/10
Scenic Air charter – Cessana Caravan – extremely comfortable – business seats – our pary of 10 filled plane and had a great time – pilot excellent – Rating 8.5/10
SAA Nairobi to JoBurg (economy) – 3 hour plus flight – excellent again 8.5/10
SAA JoBurg to Perth (economy) – made it in less than 9 hours with extremely strong tail winds – an outstanding trip – everything was excellent.

Qantas to Adelaide (economy) – at least full service but legroom and seat comfort the worst of the whole trip – staff good but gave too much alcohol to one bloke who then became abusive on descent into Adelaide as bar closed and then was opening hatches and roof lockers in ceiling above aisle.
Was so disappointing as returned to home after uncomfortable, aching 3+ hour flight, and I’m only 172 cms /80 kgms. God help anyone bigger.
Certainly will never travel Qantas to or from Perth again.
